Does it need to be live sand or crushed coral? I have some crushed coral sitting around that I was gonna use for some other project that didnt happen. Will the Cheato and or other plants grow the same in that as Miracle Mud?

One more thing. I just saw 2 of these in different spots in my tanks. Had never seen them before. Also a stupid question, but do snails grow new shells? I just found one of my Nas snails climbing around on a rock with what looks like the making of a new shell, its looks soft and gooey.

So it looks like it is splitting but I am not sure. This is just a little guy I have had about a month that tagged along on the rock I got with a bigger BTA. It has been missing about a 1/4 of his tentacles since I found him, not sure why, or what happened. But now half of it is growing like mad.

I had the same thing happen to one of mine. I think your talking about the little metal balls in the tip. They are harmless and since they dont use mecury anymore for them its not a problem. Or so it was explained to me.

I use them and like them. They provide great current. I did just pick up 2 K3's off the internet brand new for the same price I paid my LFS for one.
