    Pigmy Angel & Damsels

I have one pygmy angel. He's a great fish. He eats algae and leaves the coral alone. He swims through the rocks, but stays in view all the time. Great fish.

do wood and glass tanks work?

Seriously! I agree with Krazzy. Just buy a tank. They really aren't that terribly expensive. A comment on the mirror backing. I considered doing that too - it would look great. But the lfs said that several species (angels are the only ones I remember, but there were others) might freak out...

do wood and glass tanks work?

Jeremy - Go with glass. Being able to see through all sides of the tank is a plus, especially with a saltwater tank. Wood sounds very questionable for any tank (especially plywood and especially with a saltwater tank). It sounds like someone's bad idea of how to make a few bucks. Sounds like a...

    hard green bubble things

The fish store owner told me. I also read it in a book once upon a time. He said they are collections of methane gas.

    temperature problem

You don't have to run the skimmer all the time. I usually do, but I know several people, including pet store owner, who run it about half the time.

    temperature problem

I have similar problems. Fans are okay. You can also turn off your skimmer during the hotter periods of the day. It may produce heat.

    hard green bubble things

These are collections of gas from fish waste. They are almost pretty, but they do increase in number. To remove them, scrape them off with a big spoon or something similar. They are harmless, as far as I know.....

    new saltwater owner

As always, Beth gave good advice. If you already have a clown, you might be jumping the gun a bit and I would definitely wait. However, I put a cardinal in my tank two days after setting it up last August and he's still with me. That's a great beginner fish. Not very exciting, but hardy and...

    REEF PREDATORS

mantis shrimp could be the culprit. I thought I was the only Parrothead on this board. I made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast (on my aquarium)

    The coolest algae scraper

Buy a magnet cleaner made by Twister. The owner of my favorite store recommended it. It works great and is very strong. I have not used any of my brushes or blades since. I will agree that you should be careful to not get gravel between the magnets. It will scratch. Otherwise, you can't go wrong...

    Cleaner Shrimp

Absolutely. A cleaner shrimp is a great addition with or without rocks. He "cleans" fish of parasites and other undesirables. He will find plenty of food to eat. Mine goes crazy when I feed them. You won't regret it.

    Temperature

Get rid of the glass canopy. I have been told this by several pet store proprietors. It acts like a greenhouse and increases the heat. It will also pick up a lot of salt condensation and probably some algae. Look at the pet stores. None of them have glass between the water and the lights....

    Aptasia

I don't know if this is what I've got or not. I have lots of little tree-looking things growing out of my rocks. They first were white and grew from the little white tube looking things all over the rocks. Now they have grown up a bit and are reddish brown.I have never seen them attack or harm...
