    Snails

I have never had any salt water snails reproduce. They are exellent cleaners. Your friend is probably thinking of fresh water snails, which can take over a tank.

    question about some shrimps

Sometimes fish or inverts seem to have personalities, just like people. I also have a 75 gallon. I was assured I could add two cleaner shrimp with coral banded and would be okay. I did and the cb killed them both in one night. So its a little bit of a gamble. Fire shrimp are pretty...

    Coral Catfish?

I had some about 25 years ago. I was new to the hobby, saw them in a store and thought they were cool. They school in groups. I bought six. They looked great in my tank but in less than 3 weeks all were dead. They weren't cheap either. I have since heard that they are hard to keep. They...

    yellowtail blue damsel/So boring!!

I started with 5 yellowtail damsels. Eventually two died. I added two more and the three remaining killed them in a day. I guess they didn't want them in their terrority. You might want to add more than one.

I think it's just luck. I've had a lot more failures than success stories.

    panther grouper question

20 years ago I tried keeping Spotted Sweetlips. They were very peaceful and shy, but mine kept dying on me. Never had one live more than a few months, so I've shyed away from them. Unlike the Panter Grouper, Sweetlips should not eat your other fish. SWF.com says they are reef safe. I've...

    Orange Linkia Star

I had one a few months ago. He cruised around the tank for two days, then died. I have lots of live rock and live sand, so I thought it would have found enough to eat.

    Your longest lived inhabitant

I have a four-stripe damsel and a yellow tail damsel that are still around from when I set the tank up in the spring of 1996. that's the longest I've had any fish live.
