Can anyone tell me what this might be. It looks like some kind of brown algie with bubbles to me. The tank has been set up for about 3 months now. I checked all the water levels(amona,Nitrate,nitrite,PH) and they all tested good. Does diatoms have bubbles in them. Why would I be getting Diatoms...

Well I am trying to determin what caused my PH to spike. It spiked to about 8.8. I used some Muratic Acid(drops) to lower the PH back to an accepatable level. I can only think that it could be either the petrified wood or the lava rock I am using in the sump.

Will petrified wood raise PH?

Thanks for the input! I am feeding is seeweed daily and blood worms and brine shrimp which I started soaking in Garlic last night. I will post an update on this fish when I have one. Brad

My yellow Tang has large white things attached to his tail fin, dorsal fin and just above both eyes. It is not ICK from what I can tell the white spots look like large pieces of salt. They look like you could just pluck them off. He is eating good and swimming around like he is happy.

My Yellow tang has Ick. I have moved him to a medicine tank. My question is can I put a cleaner shrimp in with him to help cure him. Will the cleaner shrimp develop ick. Thanks, Brad

What does tempered glass on the bottom have to do with drilling a tank? If I have the bottom drilled does it matter if it is in the corner or not.

I have a 75 Gallon Glass and 2 35 Gallon Glass Show aquariums that I would like to get drilled for the overflow. My question is where do I need to get the tanks drilled at. I do not wand to drill in the wrong place and weeken the aquarium causing a disaster. Thanks, Brad
