Want to splurge on new light hood with halides/Cf's and moonlights but don't know which one! HELP!

I was hoping the lighting would be ok through the glass top, but is that not going to work? I've always just had T5s and they've been fine, but jumping into halide territory is new to me...

Want to splurge on new light hood with halides/Cf's and moonlights but don't know which one! HELP!

Hey all! It's been a while since I've visited - kind of nice not to have so many problems as of late! :) My birthday is coming up and the only thing I want is a new light hood with all the fixins. I'm looking at the 36" Aqualight Pro HQI/Compact Fluorescent/Lunar Light Fixture from Fosters...

what fish should I put in my 75n gal tank

If you like gobies, the fire goby is absolutely gorgeous and will get along well with what you have. Very peaceful and stays in the middle level of the tank. We had one of those and a few clown gobies. Can you tell I am a goby fan?? The clowns are nice surprises because they are bold for...

    Green Hair algae

I also had an algae problem and got an urchin from SWF and it was one of the best things I did (along with ro weekly water changes, phosguard and scrubbing with a tooth brush). The urchin really was like a lawn mower!

    filter help please

What kind of gunk? Algae? Is there a lot in the tank too? My best guess would be to NOT get rid ofthem. They have your valuable bacteria established on htem already. Do a water change and in the old water give them a good shake in it to clean them off. Add new water and cleaner wheels and...

Tank Leaking - Bought new one - Need advice!

Hi everybody! It's been a while since I've posted. Tank has had no problems in the past year (thank goodness). Now it is leaking (DH cleaned and scraped off a piece of the caulk). We've been debating about a tank upgrade anyway, so now is the time. We've got a 35 hex up and running for 4...

Now my 2 percs are fighting over the anemone

They are still nipping at each other. The anemone is big enough for both to swim in, but the dominant one still nips and charges the other one. It has been a little over a week. I'll keep updating! :)

    So happy -gonna cry!

Normally, I just read all your posts, but today I need to share! We've had our 35 hex for almost 4 years now with the same two false perculas and a Florida Condi anemone. We knew they probably wouldn't go into the anemone, and that was true. I finally broke down and bought a BTA from SWF.com...

white stingy stuff floating alone in tank?? help!

ok - so i did some research on the vermetid snails. let me know if i am off base. they secrete a mucus like substance to "catch" food - then reel it in to feed? they are not harmless. they may help to filter water. came in as hitchhikers on the live rock. hmmm... that mucus stuff sure looks...
