Has anyone else noticed a problem with the walmart water? In the past few weeks i've noticed that the water is not testing like it should. It's not safe enough to put in my tank.

Brown algae is normal as long as your tank is not overrun by it. If you used tap water to fill the tank you will fight brown algae for ages!!! Or if you have too much sunlight hitting the tank you will get tons of green and brown algae.

I've never heard of curing bagged sand either. I've always just added it a little at a time with a cup so that you're not throwing a bunch of sand in clouding your water and getting grains in your filters. But I'm not an expert so get advice from a few people.
