today i noticed that i have a thin brown film on the top of my tank water....is this fish waste? my tank has been set up for two years or so and have never saw this...i do not run a skimmer so i guess it could be what a skimmer would be eating up....when i stick my arm in the tank the brown...

bummer! i'd point them up and towards the walls...are they so powerful that they'd shoot water right out of the tank? i have all my powerheads in my tanks pointed to the top for surface agitation and it moves the water just fine around the rest of the tank...

i know it wasn't listed but i use TROPIC MARIN PRO REEF and have been more than happy with the results i have seen!! i used instant ocean and IO reef crystals and none compared with the pro reef

would be cool...but i can't see how coral which is in your tank, which is in your house would know what is going on outside with the moon...

usps will not ship coral/water...it is against there rules and regulations....whenever i ship and they ask if it is water etc etc i just say no...i have never been able to hear water sloshing around in the box...but 18-23 for a frag shipped is pretty much the going rate....

it does take over but it is a great looking coral and it pulses which adds an additional element to it all...i love my tank of xenia...haha

i mix in a small cup a squirt of four or five different filter foods and then dose teh tank so that you aren't feeding your corals and such the same thing everytime

they are the hardiest of all corals...they don't need anything which can't be provided by weekly water changes

and u don't need iodine for zoas

i feed my corals every three or so days....and in terms of other supplements i have never dosed my tank with anything

my blennies were always the most active guys in the tank...they may hide out for a while until they feel comfy though

do you keep your lights off for a little while when you place new fish in the tank...and do they have ample space to hide? also are you positive it is the clown killing them and not something else like stress or water parameters or something?

i mean if he is nasty now he prolly isn't going to get friendlier...you may just want to cut your losses now...is he pretty big or is he little?

certain clowns are in the damsel family i dn't believe that all of them are

i leave it on the back and sides of my tank and use a razor blade to scrape it off of the front....

is your flow really strong over them? they don't like a ton of flow

gold stripe maroon clowns being the most agressive

do you have a lot of rockwork? if you don't this could be the problem...maroons are usually more agressive though
