It really does depend on species, but according to my past research the standard is about 3-5 watts per gallon. I found it on about.com. HTH

You'd be surprised on the strength of chipwood and pine 2x4's though (not that I'm going to risk it!). Oak could hold a Semi up, but like any hardwood it's kinda pricy. Not to mention the weight! Man it sucks moving around hardwood furniture. I just hope there will be no stairs in the moving...

the bamboo was less than 10 inches long, he had plenty of room to swim freely. I know i will have to get a bigger tank for the new fish and thats why i asked how long they would last, and i dont wanna hear they should be moved right now cause u all know that the 2-3 inch fish have plenty of room...
