    5 Gallon tank build

I like the green banded goby idea. Another suggestion is a red headed goby. I have one in my tank and really enjoy it. It's on the bottom a lot but climbs around on all the rocks.

MrLimpid, you mention in your review the fact that these led's are uncoated, what concern does that cause?

    5 Gallon tank build

What's the price difference? And yea I really like the hAmmer corals and frog spawnIf you go to the manufacturers website you can see the new version. It has a built in clock and can be set up to individually control the on and off times of the blue and white lights. The old version has a three...

How many MP10 units to buy?

consider how often your power goes out - and for what duration. In my area, my power usually gets knocked off for an average of 5-6 hours. Sometimes my power gets cut off for two weeks at a time - which happened back in '98. Then it wouldn't matter if I had a battery backup or not. A computer...

How many MP10 units to buy?

I have zoas, hammer, acans, chalices, and cyphastrea. I think I'll be able to do nicely with one mp10. Wasn't sure if two might give me better current variation.

How many MP10 units to buy?

I would say get 1 mp10, see how you like it amd look to upgrade to 2 if need be. That's kind of what I was thinking. I do have corals. Mostly medium to low current types so even with one unit I'll be running it fairly low. Think I just convinced myself. Now I need info on the backup battery.

How many MP10 units to buy?

I'm upgrading my power heads to at least one MP10. I've got a 29 gallon standard tank. I'm sure one is enough but should I have two? Or would two be overkill? Also, does anyone have opinions on Ecotech's battery backup unit? Would a lower priced computer backup be just as good?

I'm having a hard time with my salt water tank. help please :)

Hi, and welcome to the site... You do need lots more rock which is your natural filter. To be honset the first month is how long it takes to just cycle and then add one fish every 2 to 4 weeks to allow the tank to build enough good bacteria on the rock to keep the ammonia down...any ammonia or...

What type of lighting are you using??? I use the Marineland reef capable LED unit. The one I have is not currently available in stores. It has built in timers. It has great output for softies and medium light LPS IMO. I'm actually thinking of adding one more of the same unit. I think I'll have...

    More Fish advice please?

I used to have a bicolor blenny and a 6-line and a clownfish. They all did well together. I'd go with one of those next if I were you. I'm actually thinking of adding a bicolor to my current setup. No 6-line this time. I'm afraid it will get my shrimp.

Nice tank bro. How long has it been up and running? Looks a little bare. Perhaps some more corals can brighten things up. It's a work in progress. I've technically had it up for years but I let it sit dormant for the last year or two. Just started getting it back in shape in March. I'll...

Nice clowns! Can i have em? I'll get right on that. Hehe. If they ever lay eggs I might start a breeding system. It's so much work though.

Run the blues whenever the whites are on as well. It really enhances colors.

Less time with lights on? Evaporation is just part of this hobby. I do daily top-offs. No way around it.

A red headed goby would be a nice addition in that size tank. I love mine. By the way, does anyone find it disturbing that in the video on the manufacturers website they have a mandarin goby in this 5 gallon tank?
