Thanks a lot for all of the input everyone. I don't like the super deep blue that the 20K Mh gives off. I think I will go with the 10K XM MH with 2 or 4 super actinic VHOs (depending on the look). Once again, thanks a lot everyone!

I am setting up my MH/VHO system and can't decide whether to use a 20K MH with 10K VHOs, or 10K MH with Actinic VHOs. If anyone out there has their experiences or opinions to share I would really appreciate it. :help:

DVS, The rock is almost all figi. There are two pieces of lace rock in there too. I know there are some dangers with lace rock leaching metals into the water, but these peices were in my old tank for almost a year and everything thrived, so no worries. Thanks for the compliment!!

Sorry to kinda hijack the post, but I have an ICECAP ballast question too. When I mount it, could I mount it on the top of my canopy with a peice of styrofoam between the ballast and the wood? That way you won't run into the problem of no drip loop and the styrofoam should insulate the ballast...

Thanks for the address Searcher. I was suprised at the lack of choices too, but if you think about it, Chicago is about 1500 miles from the closest drop of seawater. Either way, 11 fish stores are enough to keep you busy for a day or two :)
