How to rid your tank of Red-Slime!

Well, I can def understand peoples feelings on the use of chemicals.. I used to be one of those people. I used it back in Oct 2004 and here I am 6 months later and I have still ZERO Cyano or anything other bad algae. I have great coraline, the corals grow well, my chaeto grows insane...So I...

How to rid your tank of Red-Slime!

Well, as my posts show...I have always wanted natural over Chemical...but I finally went with Chem Clean last fall and I havent had one patch of cyano again. Right after the treatment, my Xenia and Chaeto took off and now it looks great. My theory is that the cyano was using all the excess...

Ok...for some of you, you know I have been fighting a Cyano outbreak for some time. I went in and they tested the water, for Phosphates. That came up at zero. The Alk was low he said and the Ca was 360. He told me to up my dosing for both. He had said there is a relation to the Alk and the...

    Enough Flow?

The Pump is at 4.25 feet. So I guess its pushing out around 750gph. With that split two ways... 375gph out of both nozzles. Would I be better off replacing the Mag9.5 with the 1200? At 4ft that is 1100gph. Anyone?

    Enough Flow?

I had to much flow coming from my single nozzle in the main tank. The return pump is a mag9.5. So i installed a Y split to break the flow. which it did, but the flow coming out of one either one of them alone is less than what i get out of my maxijet900's. Is that enough flow from the...

    Coral ID and Lighting question

Ok. I was told my the lfs guy and my friend that this would be a great coral to have at this level of my tank (5-6 months). It is in fact a Alveopora. Everywhere I'm reading is telling me that these are next to impossible to keep in a reef tank for more than around 6 months and nothing but an...
