    Aggresive FOWLR tank

What is your aquascaping? Do you have alot of live rock? Rays need ALOT of open area to be happy.....also they need some sand to bury in.....be sure to use the smallest grain.....do NOT use crushed coral, it's too big and too sharp, the ray will get infected from the cuts..... Any puffers...

    Advice on bamboos....

The best thing IMO to entice a shark to eat is squid....be sure to cut it into small bite-sized pieces, grab it with some tongs and wave it in front of them gently....don't hit them with it though.....be sure not to wash the squid either, sharks have an extremely good sense of smell......the...

Can't help but notice that your tank is very lightly stocked. Is this by design or are you going to be adding more livestock? If so, what do you plan to add? Yeah, unfortunately it is light right now.......I am battling a bad case of ich......I've lost a couple of tangs this week, a Sohal and a...

alexmir, Well it's actually not a fish-only tank, or it's not supposed to be.....there are a few corals in it, just not very many.....I had an accident with my kalkwasser reactor and it killed off several of the corals. I have halides for a couple of the corals, because I have kept clams, and...

    Glass to acrylic dumb,dumb,dumb

Acrylic has nearly the same index of refraction as water, so the colors that you see are very accurate. Glass, even Starfire, cannot say the same. I've never seen any glass tank that did not give a very slight green tint. Acrylic is 17 times stronger than glass. It also has better thermal...

    Glass to acrylic dumb,dumb,dumb

Glass can actually have a slight bow also, not as much as acrylic though.....the only time bowing is a problem is when the sides are too thin or the span is just too long (for glass or acrylic). This debate has gone on since the beginning of aquariums and will probably be going on long after...
