Have you tried moving the colony to another location? Closer/farther from the light. More/less water movement.

Use filtered water (RO/DI) for your top-offs & water changes. It's your first line of defense against algae.

How about a PH test kit?

Tunze Stream w/controller kicks serious ass! Money well spent.

My return pump puts out about 1200 gph with inlets on both sides of the back of the tank. I also have a Tunze Turbelle stream 6000 blowing 1850 gph from side to side with a controller for wave simulation. Very cool.

If your collection cup is filling with water every 3 days, you need to make some adjustments. Your skimmer should be putting out a dry foam, not a liquid.

Can this "weld On" be used with water in the tank? Where can I find it? I know you can't post web sites on this board, so please email me at antonfs@webtv.net. Unless it's someting I can pick up at the hardware store.

Sorry, no pictures, I have webtv so I am a bit limited. The overflow boxes attaches to the sides and back of the tank from top to bottom. At the bottom of one of the boxes, where the box meets the side of the the tank, there is a 1/2-3/4 section of the seam that did not seal. HTH

It just occured to me that I could install a stand pipe!
