    Zebra Moray Eel Not Eating

I bought a zebra moray 10 days ago. He is about 18" long and has not eaten anything yet that I have seen except a time when it looked like he stole a small piece of shrimp from a serpent star. Should I be worried that he is not eating yet? I have tried shrimp and squid. Should I be trying...

    Kenya Tree Forest

I recently added a large Kenya tree about 3 months ago. It appears to be very healthy but it does drop about 1 branch on a weekly basis. The questions are: 1. I recall reading that this is normal. Is that true? 2. Each branch has reattached somewhere else in the tank on large pieces of live base...

40 Gallon Breeder Sump / Refugium Design

Thank you for referring the website. It has me strongly considering placing the refugium on the right side by splitting off one of the drain lines. Acrylic51: we are close so if you have any good local recommendations for anything please email me. Anyone else on the questions from my first post...

40 Gallon Breeder Sump / Refugium Design

I know there are many posts on DIY sump refugiums but I want to run my design by everyone for feedback on effectiveness. This is for a 180 gallon reef tank. Currently I have an Eshopps ADV-200 but I don't care for the design for maintenance purposes. Second, my reef octopus diablo 200 flexes the...

    Tank Take-Over

Additional CUC is on it's way. Any recommendations on how many of each type for a 180 gallon? The phosphate theory makes sense so I will increase water changes. I am just surprised to see zero. Lighting will be reduced significantly. We used water from the tank so there will not be a spike...

    Tank Take-Over

Thanks for the feedback. My wife and I pulled out every piece of rock to brush it off and clean off the sand that was embedded into the algae or onto the rock. The sand used is Marco fine sand. While their rock is great, I would be hesitant to try the sand again. Also there appeared to be a...

    Tank Take-Over

I have been on a month long work assignment and came home to this (see pictures). It is some kind of algae on the glass and rocks. The color appears to be more tan instead of green but feels gritty as if sand is embedded into the algae. Please ID and let me know what my options are to eliminate...

    Need a little help...

it is slightly reef. it started as that and moving toward fish only with live rock. none of my fish damage my leather coral or coral banded shrimp (he is the meanist in the tank right now). I just feel i could provide better nutrients/supplements in the tank rather than just water changes. thanks

    Bursa accepting or denying?

I have recently purchased a Bursa Trigger and it is Possibly eating after day 1. I have fed it frozen krill and a frozen cube of Formula One. He seems to spit out a lot of food and sometimes appears to keep some in. Is this normal behavior of a trigger to spit food out of its mouth either...
