    Least light intensive clam

no offence but i hate these questions. its almost like asking "whats the least amount i can feed my dog before it dies." the fact is that all the clams we keep come from very shallow water and need very intense light. some species seem to be able to handle less light light then others but if you...

    Quick question on clam positioning

if you have/have had copper wire in the tank i would definitely say that inverts are out of the question. copper is very toxic to them. copper will also bind to calcium carbonate surfaces so your LR and sand will slowly leach the copper back out killing any inverts over time

    clams

clams can and will eat all sorts of plant and animal matter. it has been shown that clams will filter things between the size of 2microns and 200microns but seem retain matter in the size range of 2microns to 50microns best.

    clams

clams can sustain themselves through photosynthesis alone as long as they have nitrogen and phosphorus in the water to feed there zoox. this is for clams of any size, even the very tiny ones can generate enough food through photosynthesis to live and grow just fine, providing they have strong light.

clam has a big opening?? and it and can see through the other side

the opening in the bottom of the clam is normal. its called the byssal opening. this is where the clam sticks its "foot" out of. they can also use this slit to get rid of any sediment that has accumulated inside of the clam.

Tridacna Clams: I want to breed them.

clams dont need iodine. besides that NSW levels of iodine are around 6 PPB. thats like nothing, if you counted and categorized every molecule of sea water, when you got to 1 billion you would have found 6 molecules iodine (iodide actually). hobby test kits CANT detect iodine. a few years back i...
