I had the same problem. I started using purple up and fiji gold. Guess what my ph 8.2 cal 450 and alk is beautiful. I don't have to add buff. I seems the system has balanced itself out very nicely. salinity 1.025. The corals are doing fantastic too.

I used to keep the sg at 1.026 but everything did not look happy in the tank. At the sg I have now all corals are growing like weeds.

Yes! I should have set up a QT here at home. Where I purchase from has a QT system. Have been getting fish from this store for over five yrs. This is the first time I've had trouble. Thankfully my 125 Reef/fish tank is on a seperate system. I would have died if it became infected.
