    id help please

looks like a monti eating nudi. If you are currently keeping monti's in your tank, make sure to check the bottom of the colony for egg's and other nudi's, and physically remove them. They can be a huge pain in the butt.

    flower pot coral

There are over 20 species of goniopora's, and they are practically found anywhere on the reef. Some gonio's need intense lighting with strong waterflow, while others can do well under low lighting and low flow. It is almost impossible to tell where your goniopora was collected, so my advice is...

Please help me with what the wifie just bought home

Catalphyllia jardinei are typically a hardy species; however, they are known to die in captivity due to their collection methods. It is near impossible to tell whether an elegant is infected or not, but once it is, it will die because there is no current cure or treatment. In most cases, an...

How Upsetting... Monti Cap suddenly started flaking

sorry to hear about the monti. You might want to inspect the coral. There's currently a HUGE problem with monti eating nudi's coming from collection sites, wholesalers, and retail stores. I don't know if your tank is infected, but that is the first thing that came to my mind. The monti eating...

Hey guys! I am new to the forums but I have some knowlegde that I would like to share. From my experience in this hobby and working in a LFS, almost all LPS corals can be kept under PC lighting, including euphyllia's because most LPS corals are not found in the shallow reef. Therefore, MH...

    Brain Coral Placement

Most brain coral like low-medium light and water flow. They do not need to be placed on the sand bed, but it might be a good idea becaue they need a lot of room to expand. If you want to place the brain coral on the rock, make sure there is plenty of room for them to grow. Good luck =)

    14 k metal halide bulb

Our reef club members always suggest using radium, xm, phoenix, or hamilton. I personally like hamilton because they last pretty long. Check them out and good luck!

odyssea products are horrible. I used to work for a LFS and we heard horror stories about their products. You should look into lumenarc reflectors.

    Can I add more stars??

You can add more starfish in your system as long as you feed them. Feed your starfish rotifers and they'll be happy. Rotifers are also used to feed corals. Basically you'll kill two birds with one stone. Good luck! =)

check out a few of my scores today!

Nice corals at a great price! I believe both of the acan's are subechinata's because the polyps are round and not folded like an acan echinata.

    How much light for leathers?

Most soft corals requires medium-low lighting, and power compact lighting will work fine. However, soft corals do better with medium-high flow. The tricky part is finding an area in your tank with low lighting and good water flow. good luck!
