    Aqua pod pump

Check to make sure the impeller has not come out of its socket. Look at the part that you can move and remove. If you remove it you see the impeller or fan looking thing. It may have come out of its socket.

    Confirmation on hitchhiker

Great point Threed240, I just read about a man who squished one with his bare finger and within 5 minutes had to call 911.

    Confirmation on hitchhiker

I'm pretty sure that is a bad nudi that eats zoas. I would remove it from any system you have and be on the look out for others.

    Killer Nano Video of Mantis

That is a cool video. The bad news is that he doesn't keep the tank anymore. He has a thread on Reef Central discussing the tank, the thread is in the Nano Tank section called Ninjafish's new cube diary. In the thread he discusses the equipment used. I skimmed that part but I think it is a...

    Whats on my Glass

There are some good ID sites out there with info on these kinds of things. I use Melev's Reef and Xtalworld. This is the blurb on Melev's Reef about them... Tiny white dots about the size of a pinhead can be found in reef tanks, overflow boxes , and sumps. They are Spirorbid Worms, which are...

    Huge bristelworm

I'm pretty sure they are beneficial. Most people think they are killers but usually what they are seeing is the worm eating an already dead critter. Check out your live rock a couple hours after lights out with a flashlight and you will most likely see several of these worms.

Coral Prop Vid by Eric Borneman

That video is awesome!! It gave me so much more confidence with fragging. Borneman made a surprise visit to a LFS in my town over the weekend and I missed it. Would have been nice to have met him.

    Are there any test kits

When I started my tank I used the Seachem marine basic test kit. It tests for pH, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite. It worked very well for me to start up a tank. As my tank matured I slowly switched over to individual Salifert test kits as they are more accurate. I bought the...

    high fin goby

Some generic info: * * * Please do not post links to other sites. Thank you. * * * My LFS calls them Yellow Rose Gobies. They have one in a 12g nano and more than half of the time I cannot find the bugger. Matter of fact yesterday he almost took the tank apart trying to find him and...

what's the 1st thing you wish you had known

That in the long run buying an Aquapod 24 all-in-one tank was not really cheaper. Although I love my pod if I were to start over I would most likely do at least a 55-gallon tank drilled with sump/fuge. No regrets though!
