    hair algae

The tank starting to get a pretty bad outbreak on the rocks. Is there anything that will eat it? If anything in my tank now eats it normally, i'd say they aren't doing a very good job. I'd really like something to get rid of it. Of course i know they don't always do they job you intend them...

    Horshoe Crab

since people don't go back and look at previous posts, i will continue to comment on this because i hated what happened. they were my fav. thing in my tank! i ordered them from saltwaterfish.com of course. i REALLY wish (and sharks can comment if they'd like) that they would put a big warning...

want to add fish, have questions

true that your tank doesn't need anything else added..however, there are crabs...like the little pest rock crab (brown with red eyes) that will grab your fish. i had one come in on some of my live rock and was fortunate to see him one night before i had added anything. i finally caught him and...

    long nose hawkfish

i've had one for a couple weeks now. The only other 2 fish i have is a fire fish and a 6-lined wrasse. my long nose hawkfish hasn't bothered anything and is really cool to watch. when i feed them it almost takes the food out of my hand. i'd say they're a really cool addition....but ya know...

    yellow head jawfish

i appreciate the info. i knew that 2 inches wasn't enough..i don't know where they go that from. but i've noticed several things they have on this site that i don't agree with at all. unless they have just changed it in about the last 3 hours or so, when you go look up this fish, that's what...

    Horseshoe Crab

the water is too warm in a tank for these guys. they will slowly die. it's a shame the lfs didn't warn you about it. a GOOD lfs won't stock them at all.

    yellow head jawfish

well, my sand bed is about 3-3 1/2 inches deep. i was thinking that wasn't enough for this fish but i just can't go through taking all that rock again to add more sand. i just don't have the time at the moment. then i read on this site that it says it needs 2 inches. that really doesn't seem...

Marine Tank Clarifier for hair algea removal?

i agree with wamp also. even if the clarifier does work, it's no fun to watch. get you some little cleaners...they definitely work and they're fun to watch. i use a little of that stuff when i do water changes to keep all the floaties out of the water..or at least to control it a little.

    Any Reason Why I Shouldn't...

i guess all of these have different personalities. my sally lightfoot is wonderful. it's never bothered anything at all. just keeps to itself and eats and jumps around the tank.

    flame scallops

if i were you i'd try to get them exhanged for something else instead of replaced. they are really pretty when you can see them....but they hide A LOT...which also makes it really difficult to feed them. in fact, i still can't figure it out. i've tried putting food right in front of them but...

i keep hearing they're good for a tank..then i hear they aren't. i can tell you they're not good to have with fire fish. they killed 2 of mine at night when the fishies were just trying to rest!!!!!!!
