I think somethings going wrong. Ive got a brown slime on my sand, and my corals aren't opening up very much. Water parameters nitrates=10 nitrites=0 ph=8.2 I usually add c-balance and seachem reef trace everyday

Well they said it had been up a year and doing well so obviously it cycled initially. What is causing it to cycle again? Did you add a lot of livestock at once? Or do too big of a water change?

What did you do to make your tank cycle?

...also......I've got baby snails. Hundreds of them. They look like tiny Cerith Snails. But I've never put a Cerith Snail in my tank. I would take a better picture, but they're only about 2 mm long, and I don't have a macro lens. You can see them as all those little black specks in the sand.

Can anyone ID these for me? They just showed up one day...

So I picked up a few corals from work the other day. Our propagation table became overgrown with calurpa and it was forgot about. I found some goodies while I was cleaning it out over the weekend. I'm hoping the brain coral will open up a bit more.
