    moving my 125 gallon setup

    spot feeding

my LFS told me about pulling corals and such out of you aquarium to be placed in a bucket for 20 min. to be fed... So i was thinking, couldn't you just go to home depot and buy a large piece of pipe that would fit around the coral/sponge/clam you were feeding. Then you could place the pipe...

    are 2 250 MH lights enough ?

I was planning on getting three 250w MH lights over my 125 long (6ft) tank...one / 2 foot like they suggest.... i'm starting to think that if i have 2 it would be enough. I could put clams in the middle under the most intense parts and still have the sides of my aquarium for my lower light...

overflow! 15 gallon through the floor!

I just drilled that hole, thanks for the info. My sump is 15 gallons. I wanted to run that sump with a wet/dry i used on my old 75 gallon setup. Do you think i can run two overflows at the same time? thanks matt

overflow! 15 gallon through the floor!

Ok, so i think i have a good sump system going, then bam a 15 gallon overflow... so i revamped the system... Now i have a syphon to a 15 gallon sump under the aquarium... then another overflow box to take it to a wet/dry. But now the wet/dry pumps the water out faster than the 15 gallon sump...

    refugium

I am about to start one with my 125 setup... my question is do you put a sand bottom in the refugium? I have an extra bag of southdown i could use... i have a 4'' dsb now in the actual tank. The refugium will be 15 gallons. I'd like to put some macro algea in it. any suggestions. thanks matt

    uncured live rock

I am cycling my tank now and i was thinking of getting some more live rock. Since i am cycling i figured i could save a few $ by buying uncured LR. However i can't find any place that sells it. If someone knows where i could buy some please email me at mvogel2@yahoo.com I love this site and...

    has my cycle started?

Ok, so i finally got everything running in m new 125 tank... however my heater has not arrived yet in the mail and my current temp is 75. Is this too cold to start a cycle??? I also added a little piece of live rock to it...i wanted to add more but i was afraid the lower temp would kill a lot...

    macro algea in the sump

I wanted to do this, but is there any precautions i need to take to make sure the algea doesn't get sucked into the return pump? Also can i add macro algea to a cycling tank? thanks in advance matt

    new sump question...it's really loud.

yeah i just did a search on them... i think i got the general idea. Just a pipe with some holes, does it quiet it down just because it's slowing the waterflow?

    new sump question...it's really loud.

it's loud in the overflow, the waterfall part....where the water from the U tube fills up and flows into the area that has the drain and prefilter sponge... it's a constant draining noise. I fulled around with the sponge and it got a little quiter, maybe i need a bigger sponge. I am using 1''...
