That's a tricky one...Everyone has their own opinion. As for us we have carbon in our emperor filters. Some people told us to stay away from it and some said go for it. The best thing you can do is read the benefits of it and look it to the drawbacks from using it and come up with your own...

We have a Seaclone skimmer on our 75 gal. It pulls out protein...we rinse our cup out about every other day sometimes two days in between. We have nothing to compare it to so we don't know if it's doing a good job or not. Our water parameters are always good so IMO it must be doing something...

The only thing we add to our tank is fish food and phytoplex for our two corals (flower leather & green mushrooms). We don't add any other supplements.

I just did a water test this A.M. The readings were as follows...Ammonia 0, Nitrate 5, Nitrite 0.1 and the Calcium was 560. The booklet says it should be between 400 - 450. How do we lower it or is this an okay reading? What kind of problems can occur with a high calcium reading? Any advice...
