sorry to hear bout the outbreak in yer beautiful reef....but i was just wondering....do you know how the ich get introduced to your tank in the first place? for a six month old tank....thas hellah stuff you added in a short period of time... or am i just being conservative?

My pair of true percs hosted to a BTA in just a few days after their introduction to my tank 6 months ago. Ever since then, they have become very territorial and never venture out more than 8 or 10 inches away from the BTA...even during feedings. The BTA hasn't left its spot either.

I've had a green star polyp for hmmm 6 months now and within 3 months it started to spread off of the rock it came on to its surrounding area. From your pic, it looks like something might be eating it maybe?

Yes, some people do eat corals. I have witnessed this in both the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippine Islands.

i can't imagine using ANY kind of grit paper to clean acrylic, that would scracth the surface fOshO!

i've heard a guy once talk about his electric bill at the LFS here in San Jose and he said it added almost $200 to his normal bill monthly!!!!

if these lights were to remain on for the recommended hours of daylight and evening times....how much would it cost in california to consume this much energy using metal hallides on a tank this big?

I'm here in San Jose, California....the sand is called PlaySand from the beaches in Monterey, CA...kiln dried and fine....30MESH....thas what it says on the bag.....3 bucks for 50lbs

sorry...i didn't mean to get u depressed...its jus that i sorta felt guilty today spending money on this hobby....i don't know why i jus did for the first time....guess cuz i was watchin cnn last nite and saw how those people were livin underground...literally with dirt walls around...

interesting how everyone has spent so much money on this hobby....specially during this depressed economic situation our country is in.....not to mention THE WAR....so while we sit in our homes watching our beautfule tanks.....lets not forget the U.S. tanks that are in the middle east killing...
