you shouldnt do a water change till your tank is cycle which could take 3-4wks depending on cycling process then u can do a water change is that what your taking about?

that fish was probably on his way out and the cbs just finished him,i have a cbs and his never hurt nuthing.he tryes to get my fish but hes too slow i never heard of cbs beeing agressive.

just make sure the new water you buy is as close as the one in the tank(salinity,ph,ect) or better yet dont be lazy and mix your own:p
