My first year was rly bad, I lost 3 green chromis, 1 yellowtailed damsel, 1 scooter blenny, 1 sixline wrasse, and 1 bangaii cardinal. This year has been very good, as I only lost 2 firefish in a freak accident.

I am thinking of doing this to, but i was gonna do my regular water change, then scoop most of the cc out, maybe leave 1/2" to 1" in the tank and add two cases of aragalive to my tank. Would this cause an ammonia spike?
I would say that is the only main negative of owning one. But thats just me. Other ppl have different opinions, so i wait for them to respond w some more feedback.
But it depends, like Ross said, if u have fish like the Mandarin in your tank, the sixline will end up eating the other fish's food, which could cause the other fish to starve.
