    Hardware store strip light theory?

    Exactly what I did for my Freshwater tank. Bought a Lowes shop light and used a peice of white plastic gutter to make a reflector for it. Great amount of light, and looks pretty good too. Robbob

    baffle questions

    I think the baffles further apart would do you better. It seems that the closer they are to each other the more velocity the water has, thus pushing the bubbles thru each baffle. I spaced mine 1.5 inches apart in my sump, and put in five baffles, it was over kill I don't have any bubbles make it...

    I had alittle bit of vibration from my 9.5, I took a peice of square filter floss and stuck it under the pump, nice and quiet. Robbob

    I have been buying some Tronics heaters. they are submersable. I have had no trouble with them at all, temp stays even all day and night.

    Southdown Sand

    I just bought 1 bad of southdown sand and 3 bags of Old Castle at home depot. Both bags have the same labels on them and come from the same place, just that southdown changed thier name to Old Castle recently. Should be a blue bag with white and red sand toys on it. HTH Robbob29
