Filling up
temporary plumbing for the sump. new hoses and both outlets to the sump will be in the first chamber

Letting it run overnight in the garage. everything seems to be going well.
cleaning up the tank was pretty easy but i still scrubbed it really good for any funk left behind. . im still confused about the chamber in the sump soo does any1 know?
and i think im going to go with a cherry stain for the wood

The chamber is for and aditional sponge filter. I have one on mine too but I find it works better without the spongefilter in it.

Very interesting with the two-tone stand. Are you planning on doing the canopy similarly? Also, is it just the pic, but in post #28 it looks like the stand was almost painted with a flat paint? Like it lost it's shine from the pic above it.
Didn't know the tank was arylic. How was the scratches/did you do anything to buff them out? Lastly, are you sure that's a 125? It looks as wide as it is tall.

yeah im going to the exact same with the canopy, black with the redish doors on it. it actually still has gloss to it, its not super gloss but its about the same as the first pic. i think that was just the lighting that made it look like that. im pretty sure its a 125. ill go measure it right now to be sure though so ill post it in a min. as for the scratches there are some minor ones in the right side i still need to buff out but the rest came out really good

Oh, I just found this thread! I can't wait to see it come together.

if you haven't already done so - I used Novus #1,#2,#3 to buff out 95% of the scratches that were in my used acrylic tank. I found the stuff online - many use it to repair motorcycle windshields and airplane windows, etc. It was about $20 after shipping for 3 large bottles. Worked great.

lol all that was included in the box of random fish stuff i got with the tank. along with heaters, prefilters, FW decor and a chiller.
i noticed that 2 and 1 work really good but 3 wont get out any of the deep scratches, any tips on using it?
today i ordered a 200gal bucket of oceanic salt, a new refractometer, and the skimmer..which was a steal muaHAHA
i didnt get the ASM but while at my LFS today he told me about an overstock store that he has access too so he ordered an Octopus NW-150 for me. ive read up on them and hear positive feedback so i thought id give it a shot. and plus i couldnt get a better price ever. i cant say the exact price but i can tell yeal i paid less for it then what i did for the bucket of salt
