The humu will get along with your other fish just fine. I had one and it wasn't overly agressive, other than the occasional run in with the niger. What I didn't like about the Humu is that it constantly made a complete mess of my sandbed. If you have LS, expect it to be all over your rocks in no time. Mine actually took mouthfulls of sand, swam to the top of the tank and spit it out. It was snowing sand all the time, this was his favorite thing to do.
Have you considered a Goldheart trigger instead. I'm very happy with mine. Very cool and active fish and is not agressive at all, just minds its business. In fact it reminds me of a humu as far as character, minus the sand storms.
No offense to any current Humu owners, but agreed, go for something more exotic!

Thanks guys. The Goldheart is very nice, but way over my budget. Any other nice Trigger like a Humu -?

You can find a Goldheart for around $120. How about a pinktail trigger? I just saw one in someones aquarium, beautiful fish!

Thanks Pete ! But I went with a Humu and a Purple. I'm getting them on Friday. I'll post some pics, when they're in the QT. Should I put some copper in the QT-?

I've done that before with triggers, treated them with copper in the QT from the beginning. But I wouldn't do it with a tang, at least not right away. I would give it a chance to acclimate and get used to its surroundings first. Maybe leave it in QT for a week, then you can start Cupramine.

Good choice on the Huma...Not exotic, but there is no more entertaining fish than a Huma...Extremely hardy (almost bulletproof) and mine was not that aggressive, I think as long as you have appropriate tankmates for them they are fine...By that I mean fish capable of denfending themselves if need be.

Hey guys ! Thanks for the tip Pete, I'll take a close look on the Purple Tang. Hey Kjr ! The Huma is doing fine, I can't wait to add him to the display. So here's and update guys..... The Purple Tang and Huma are doing fine in the QT. I put them in Friday night, and Sat morning they were eating Spectrum Pellets and Nori Sheets. Their colors are amazing. So if everything goes well, the rocks are going back in on the 11th. So what should I do first before I put the rocks back in-? Do a major water change -? Add carbon and put back on the UV-? I did dose the DT with Cupramine since 4-22-09. Also since I have my rocks in a trash can since Jan, do I need to worry about ich still being on the rocks since then-? And finally should I dose the QT with cupramine -? Or just wait and see how everybody is doing. As always thanks for your help. !
I included current pics of the 220 without rocks
and pics of the gang in the QT.

I would try to get as much of that green algae out before putting back the lr. Defintely do a nice size water change and run carbon & or polyfilter pads to rid as much copper as possible BEFORE putting back the lr. Seachem also makes something called cuprisorb which is specifically made to asorb the copper out of the DT. remember if you add the lr with a copper level in the dt, whatever is alive in the rock will be die. good luck .

Howdy Ladies and Gents ! Today is Happy Monday for me ! Today is day 22 of running Cupramine in the DT. I have 2 containers of Cuprisorb and a lot of carbon pads. So whats next for me-? Do a 30 gallon water change and add the pads and Cuprisorb -? Then wait a day or two and put the rocks back in-?
Also, today is the 10th day the Humu and Purple Tang are in the QT. They are doing great, eating like champs ! How long should I keep them in there-? Should I add some copper. As always looking forward to your replies

I wouldn't put the rocks back in the DT until the copper level is at zero, however long it takes to get there. So my advice is to do the water change, run the cuprisorb, then keep checking the copper level until it's at zero.

Agreed.
Keep the Humu and Purple in QT for about 15 more days if you decide not to treat. If you treat, keep them in QT for 2-3 weeks after the treatment ends.

Hey guys ! Looking forward to a great holiday weekend ! How about u -?
So for a big update....the rocks are finally back in ! It took me about four long hours to do it. What do you guys think -? For a little bad news, I lost my Niger. He was doing well, I don't know, its a big question mark. I had another thread up regarding my Bluethroat. He is very thin on the top and bottom. But I'm taking the blame for that. When the tank was going through the ich since Jan, I was only feeding pellets. What a big mistake. Everyone else is doing fine. The Humu and Purple are in. I did have a problem with my Yellow chasing him around, but they are ok now. I am thinking of getting another Yellow -? Also, what else can I add to the stock list -?
Hope you guys enjoy the pics ! And opinions are welcome .
Thanks

Hey, I like the way you did the rockwork. Good luck with the fish and vary their diet. I wouldn't get another yellow... too many tangs is asking for trouble, just like too many triggers. How about an Australian Harlequin Tusk?
