Leave the queen in until she is fully healed. Sponmge food with garlic and selcon will help speed up. Great to hear from you finally.

Hello everybody ! Well I added both Angels to the DT last night. It didn't go well. First I checked all the readings and everything was exact, except the Nitrates. It was 20 in the QT and 40 in the DT. So I added some Amquel + to the DT and started the acclimation. When I removed the egg crate seperation, the Emperor went after the Queen as usual, chasing her around, so I acclimated them separately. I did that for an half an hour, put both of them at the same time and the Emperor went swimming around, while the Queen went into hiding. I proceed to feed them , but everytime the Queen came out, the Emperor chased her back into hiding, so I shut all the lights off, and figured out they'll be ok in the morning. Well the morning comes, and I have a dead Queen.
Looks like the Emperor won. DAM DAM DAM !!

Did she have any bite marks or damage on her? Well, if it was the Emperor, what can you do? Stuff like this happens... fish have different personalities and sometimes it's hard to predict what'll happen. Looks like you have an agressive emperor on your hands.

man that really sucks. Queens can normally hold their own. Maybe try a smaller queen? He may not view a much smaller juvi as a threat

I really like your tank! Your fish are really gorgous! I'm sorry about your loss though. That's the thing I worry about the most, is loosing a fish.

Yea Petey ! I guess he never liked her from the beginning. She was very small compared to him. About a 3in difference. I have one on the way from Mark, 4.5-6.5 in size. Other than that, the tank has never been better. I do a 32 gal water change every week. Is that enough for a 220 -? Crypt, I've learned that things happen in this hobby, I'm not stressing it. But thanks to people like you guys on the forums, you guys make it easy for me.

melypr1985, thanks for the comments. I try my best, but all the credit goes to the people who help me out all the time, you guys know who you are .

Hey guys ! Summer is over........but oh well.......at least we have our beautiful tanks to look at
. So here's whats up. As you guys know, I have no luck with Queen Angels. Within the past year, I went through about 8. Right now in my 220, I have an Adult Emperor, which I added two weeks ago to the display. He is the king ! Eats everything, greets me all the time. I see that SWF.com has an adult Queen for sale. I was wondering should I try another one -? Is the Emperor too establish in the tank -? I don't know what to do guys -?

Well, your Emperor can't be established yet. It takes at least a few months for a fish to be established in my opinion. But it could be he's just agressive, in which case he'll go after your new queen too. Could also be if she's the same size, he won't. You'll just have to risk it if you really want a queen, but the longer you wait, the more established your emperor will get.

You're right Pete. Well SWF.com has the adult 4-5 inches. Are they ok to get in those sizes -? I heard they're hard to wean them to food -? Or it should be ok, once in the QT. What size did you get yours -?

Mine was tiny, like 2.5". But that wouldn't work if you have a large emperor. 4-5".... I would go for it. QT it first, then see how it goes. But be prepared to take her out if the emperor is too agressive.
lol, I should give you my queen. She's getting to be pretty agressive and is in the 5" range.

Hey guys ! Looks like I'm getting the Queen tomorrow. Do you guys think I can get a Flame Angel also -? I'll quarantine both the Queen and Flame together in a 55, then wait a month, then in the display they go. What do you guys think -?

Get a Passer....PM sent to you

This is interesting since I had read the Passer's (King Angelfish) are the absolute worst most aggressive angels for the home aquarium? I was also under the impression that they do really well in captivity. There patterns an markings look similar to a queen (just different colors) so maybe it's a good choice?

Hey GW ! I already purchased the last Queen, SWF.com had. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm thinking about getting a Flame also. Any opinions -?

Well, I see alot of places say not to keep angels together and I've found this to be untrue in most cases. I've got a blue face, koran, french living together and the koran an french do go at it now an again. But nothing seroius and they were all introduced at different times. No if adding a bunch of fish at once wasn't an issue it would make life easier. My blue face is an adult an both the koran and french are small about the size of a flame. Flame's seem to be shy at times but I don't think you'll have an issue as long as you have lr for the flame to hide in. In my expericance with any pygmy I've tried the live rock and cover seem to be a must for there success. Especially with flames. I'd be more concerned about the emperor than the queen and flame.
Let us know how it turns out.

Your flame angle will be fine. I have had a Blueface flame mix blueface coral beauty mix and now have a Emperor biColor. They leave each other alone. Dwarfs are no threat to a large angel.

Passer do have an aggressive reputation but in my humble opinion, all Pomacanthus and Holacanthus angels are potentially bossy and aggressive. It is more important the size and when they are introduced. My Emperor is bigger and was in first than my Passer, I doubt the Passer will ever become the "angel boss" in my system, but I could be wrong.....I'm even more confident neither will ever boss my Sohal Tang around.

Hey guys ! Once again its been a while. Hope all is well :)
GW, thanks for tip. I'll have pics up soon. Crypt and Kjr thanks buddies ! I got the Queen from SWF.com since Sept.10. She doing well, and eating like a champ. So with the current stocklist of - 3 tangs- yellow, purple and blue- 4 inches, humu trigger- 3inches and a adult emperor- 6inches, the final additions will be a Flame and Bi-Color angel along with the Queen. And last but not least a Gold Puffer. What do you guys think -?

I would skip out on the bi color unless you can find a bigger one. They come in small and dont grow that fast. Also they dont do well IME with aggressive tankmates. I have one and they are whimps
