Hey Crypt ! Well I think I messed up my QT last night. I did two water changes, I did the display with no problems then I did the QT, so I added the pump with the siphon hose, next thing you know I had to run to the phone, and I forgot about the QT, and I basically drain the whole tank out.
What should I do -? I was going to mix new water, but wouldn't that start a cycle -? The puffer is about 6in and fat. On the rock, I'm sure the LFS have it very pricey. Online would be good, but as you say it would take a while to cycle.

I personally don't like to buy rock online. I bought it a few times and the problem is, you get what they send you. Could be ugly rocks, could be nice rocks, you never know. It's better when you go to the LFS and pick the pieces you want.

Very true Petey. I'll take a look tonight. So maybe like 60 lbs -?
What should I do about the QT-? I mistakenly drained all the water out of the 55, and I got the Puffer in today.

Yea, I was doing two water changes, so I did the DT first, then acclimated the Queen, then I did the QT, set everything up, pump and hose set it up through the window, I got a phone call and I forgot about the QT. Came back, all the water gone !

That sucks. i just dont want you to have a issue like before. That would really test my nerves. How is the queen and the emp?
Make a deal with the LFS. Most places have that rock hanging out. Tell them to sell you 50 pounds for $250 They jump on that deal in heart beat.

I would get base rock and let it turn to LR (takes about 6 weeks once it's in the tank), I will PM you where I got my last order.
I agree with Pete, that is a helluva lot of powerheads.
Here is my aquascaping, not that mine is perfect, just to give you an idea. I essentially have 3 mountains, with lots of hiding places for the smaller fish, but plenty of open area. The rock in the middle is the new stuff I got from the place I am pming you, it will look like the rest before too long.

His rock he has now looks pretty dead IMO. i would get a few pounds maybe 20 of Live rock with some nice grwoth on them. Hey KJR mind sended me?

PM sent....I don't know if any correlation, but the coraline started growing when I started adding Kent Essential Elements. My rock became beautiful shades of purple and pink.

that tank is beautiful tank man!
so is crypts and that other dudes.
hopefully one day i'll be able to upgrade my tank to one like that:)
for now tho i'll stick with my 23g nano:) lol
