Hey Crypt ! Nothing much new to update. I didn't get the rock yet. Maybe next week. I was wondering where should I put it.
Against the back glass, maybe two islands on each corner-?
The fishes are great. It seems to me, that they're always hungry. I usually feed once a night,a large portion of mysis, spruilina, formula 1+2 pellets and spectrum. Is that too much -? I also started dosing with Vodka for the past 14 days, the Nitrate levels are going down, but I do notice my water is a little cloudy. Not sure of because the pads are dirty or I need to do a water change. I haven't done a water change in 2 weeks

the rock will help with the trates. Your fish are big. I would step up the feeding to times daily. I feed 3 to 4 times. I have pretty good filtration with a good fuge. My trates stay down.

Sounds good. I have 50 lbs of Key Largo Rock on the way. You think that's enough -? Or should I get more

set it up. see what it looks like. I would search all your lfs. Find big stackable pieces. Get some dead rock. Mostly live with good growth. your rock wont be cycled. you will need to cycle it

man your tank is SOOO nice, honestly, and the deal with the puffers and other, your taking ALOT of care with them, maybe too much?
imagen if like you got sent to the hospital every time you had a tiny cought of something, thats sorta the same thing, it could stress it out abit, just trust it,
if its only the puffer gettin affected and nothing else, chances are its nothing to do with the tank, just the specimen. you worry too much :D
but yeh truely spectactular tank, im wondering how you manage to keep an emp and a queen together?
and also, how come the puffer doesnt bother your chromis?

angels can work in large tanks and whne they are small. You cant put a 12 inch queen and a 12 inch emp in a 150 and expect it to work. Hell they would have issues in a 500 gallon tank IMo. If they grow up together or you buy one that is larger and accepting of a juvi species then it can work. It still has risk.
also his fish dont get sent to the hopsital every night. They stay there till they are cleared. Its not fair to any of the other fish that are healthy to care for them so recklessly. Plus it kills your wallet. This hobby empties it out fast enough when things go right anyway

I would get a trash can gtd and place a few power heads in there and a heater. No light needed for about a week then test the water. Smell the rock. If it doesnt smell bad like a dead odor IMo you are fine. It should smell like saltwater IME

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!! Ok guys............here are some updated pics. I know its been a while, just been very busy at work. So I finally put in the Macro rocks, I took all the rocks out and did a complete makeover. What are your opinions -? I also finally did a water change, its been nearly two months. I've been having a lot of success with dosing with vodka, Nitrates are at 0. The tank has been running very well, everyone healthy and eating up everything. The only problem I have, is that the tank has a little green tint to it. What can that be -? You can see from the pics. Let me know, what you guys think
Also, its been a longtime since I bought a new fish, what should I add next -? I have a few in mind -
Blonde Naso or a pair of Dwarf angels or a Maroon Clown or a rabbitfish or a Bluethroat, maybe a Wrasse -?

PICS !!!!!!!!!

Hey, how's it going? Tank's looking good. I like the fish you have in there although the golden puffer seems to have lost some of the color? Or maybe it's the lighting.
As for the green tint, I read that could be one of the side effects of vodka dosing but I have no idea what exactly causes it.

Pete ! How are u buddy -? Happy Holidays ! Yea the Puffer did lose some color. I don't know why. He does have to battle for food from the Emperor. He's doesn't get his fair share. Not a lot of meaty stuff. I gotta come up with a solution. Yea I think the green tint is a side effect of the vodka dosing. I was thinking I need to add some Chemi-Pure in the tank. I don't have any, because I heard it causes Head/Lateral Line disease. Should I add some -? Any suggestion on a new addition -?

The way I was able to feed my puffer without the triggers getting in the way was at night. You might want to try that... less competition then.
You already have 3 tangs, so I'd go with something else. A pinktail trigger. An Australian Tusk. A red Coris Wrasse. A Cuban Hog Fish. I don't mean all of them, but some options that would add some red color to the tank.
