Hey Crypt and Pete ! I finally managed to get rid of the noise from the overflow. I was able to raise the pipe a little. The only thing is, is that the water level is about an half inch from the top of the tank, is that ok -? GW, I'm gonna give it a shot, and try the Cupramine. But for how long should I treat -? Hef,I tried Hypo once, but I messed it up. So I'll give Cupramine a try.
Thanks :) I want to plan ahead on the future stocklist. What do you guys think -? Maybe a Trigger next and last a Tusk-?
I'll post up some pics of the new additions soon.
Make sure you get a copper test kit. Don't just assume that your at the correct levels because you added x number of drops. I would run the cumpamine at a constant dose for 4-6 weeks. I ran it longer because I was adding fish to the tank and the water params were good. I would also slow down on the new additions. All the current stock are going to grow.

You want a little bit of a waterfall in your overflow. Just not so much that you hear it. As for Cupramine, I've used it a couple of time in my QT on some triggers. Seems pretty easy to use, just make sure you have the right test kit for it. Get the one they say to use on the back of the Cupramine bottle.

Hey Crypt ! I guess that's it for the stock list. I'm not planning to upgrade the tank anytime soon. The one I have now is a little over a year old, and I'm planning on getting married next year. But boy oh boy am I in love with RCreations- Petey's Clown Trigger. I want one BAD
. A bigger tank would be awesome, but unfortunately I can't. I understand my current stocklist will get big, eventually. Hey GW, I decided to dose with Prazi-pro last night in the QT for the angels. How long should I dose for -? Then after I complete that, then I'll think about dosing with Cupramine. They look great and are eating well. I'm so undecided about the Cupramine, I mean even after a month or so, and they look 100 %,should I still add Cupramine -? Hey Petey ! The overflow is good now, I raise the pipe up,and no more noise.
But is it ok that the water level is about an inch from the top of the tank. Another thing I've been dealing with for the longest time is the green tint in my tank. I don't know if its from me dosing with vodka 2 months ago. I would love to put some carbon or chemi-pure in there, but I'm afraid it might affect the Emperor. I head it cause Head/Lateral Line Erosion.

Do you have a UV Sterilizer? That might get rid of your green tint.
Hey, get rid of those silly dwarf angels and get a clown trigger, a REAL fish!
Just kidding of course.

That's the most difficult part of dealing with ich IMHO. If the fish are not stressed and eating well you never see it. Until the stresser (like a water change or something) triggers the ich which takes advantage of the weakened fish. Then your dealing with an aggressive parasite. I just think that running the copper kills the ich so you know it's dead.

Hey Petey, I do have a UV, its been running for months, I don't know why its still green. You think I should run the Chemi-pure or Carbon -? Or would it affect the Emperor -? Yea your CT is driving me crazy. Makes me want to get rid of some fish for the Clown.

GW, I definitely don't want ich in my tank. I'll go with the Cupramaine after I finish with the Prazi. How long should I keep the Prazi in -? Thanks for your help Matt

I don't know, maybe the green in the water is something else? Or maybe you need more flow through the UV Sterilizer. Remember, for parasite control, the flow has to be very low. For algae control, it has to be a lot higher.

You know what Pete, you might be right. The flow I have through the UV is definitely low, because when I purchased the pump for it, I got one with a low flow for controlling ich. Maybe I need to upgrade that pump. Thanks man. Also, I know you have a Pinktail. How she doing -? I know you recommend one to me a longtime ago, I might go with one.

Pinktail's doing great. Very cool fish with interesting personality and not overly agressive. There's a certain Diver's place that's selling a very pretty one right now.

I saw that as well. It is gorgeous and would do great in this set up. That would be the last fish though.
I would up the flow on the UV as well. Then maybe do a huge water change. Like 50% to help it out some.

OK. I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Pinktail, but...... I know I can only have one more addition.I still have the Aussie Tusk in mind, and the one I use to have died because I was experimenting with vodka dosing, and stupid me, I turned off the skimmer, and you guys know what happen after. Now I'm leaning more towards the Tusk, because I already have a trigger in the tank, so it would be nice to have a different species in my tank. If it wouldn't workout and be a perfect fit in the long run for my tank, then I'll go with the Pinktail. You guys are the experts, and I always trust your judgment.

I don't know, they're both nice fish. It depends which one you like better, but keep in mind that the trigger is the hardier fish. I would love to get a Tusk myself but I doubt I can add anything else with the Sohal in there.

I just got an email from Mark, so I'm gonna get that Tusk. And hope for the best !

Yea sure. I also added about 10 bags of carbon. I was wondering if I put it in the right chamber in the sump. First chamber- filter pad/live rock, second chamber- skimmer- third chamber- DSB with mangroves, fourth chamber uv pump, fifth chamber - carbon, six chamber - main pump.
Is that good-?

some people drop a bag of carbon right in the dt. Id say you're good. Where are you going to house the tusk for qt? Be way to many fish in that 55 and if the tusk has a disease coukd cause an issue

You definitely want to QT the Tusk since they're prone to ich (moreso than other fish). In fact, all the Tusks I've ever seen for sale locally had ich. This is one fish you don't want to risk putting straight in your DT.

Hey Crypt, I'll QT the Tusk in the 55 with the dwarfs. I see some white spots on one of the Flames, so next week I'll dose with Cupramine, with the Tusk in there. Yea Pete, the Tusk is going straight to the QT. Hey about the chambers in the sump, you think its good -? I forgot to mention about the pump for the UV in chamber 4, I have the outlet going back to chamber 1 on top of the filter pads. Is that ok -?
