another vote for getting the queen asap... my 2 angels are best buds.
I also waited on SWF.com to get a queen... but I was waiting on both a queen and an emperor at the same time. It took quite a while -over 3 months, but they both became available at the same time. SWF.com seems to usually update their stock on Fridays - every time I've got email notification of availability, it's been on a Friday. Maybe you'll get lucky and have one show up tomorrow??

Here's and update. I tested the water today to see if its an issue with the Emperor. Those white blotches are almost over his entire body.Reading are fine, except the Nitrates are at 20.
And the salt level is at 1.020. Do you guys think that is effecting him.-? He's eating like a champ, but only mysis,Spectrum pellets and algae sheets, all soak in vitamins. What other foods can I feed him-? I don't wanna lose this guy.
I also directed all the powerheads towards the top of the tank,so its a little choppy right now.

I would raise the salt up a little, maybe around 1.023. But do it very slowly.

PH is at 8.2. I'll raise up the salt slowly. I'm really worried about this guy. He's eating the Mysis, soaked in Vitamins, Brown and Green Algae sheets, and Spectrum and Formula 1 and 2 pellets, soaked in Vita-Chem or Garlic. I feed all my fishes with the foods soaked with vitamins, then freeze overnight, then I let it defrost and put the food in the net and in the tank. Maybe he needs more greens-? Some Lettuce-? I even dry the Angel Formula, but he doesn't go for it.
I am getting the grounding probe this week. I heard that sometimes that carbon in the tank can effect them,by removing something they need-? I have about 10 bags in the sump.

Hey R ! Yes it is a custom made tank. Will I have problems down the road with just one overflow-? The stand is oak, I would like to stain it, but I guess I can't since there is already 3 coats of Polyutherane on it, unless I sand it down. It does "stand" out in my basement, since the wall is walnut.
My 2 Cents. On my 220, which has 2 corner overflows, I use ALL of 4 holes for DRAINS and return the water over the TOP behind one of the overflows right into the tank. THis prevents ANY chance of more water going in than out. You could do that with your 1 Overflow and have twice the drain instead of one. Just a thought.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mine. So the Emperor still eating like a champ. I'm still worried about this guy, and I'm getting the Queen tomorrow. He's still faded, I took out all the carbon yesterday. He looks like he is grunting sometimes

Hey, I remember reading somewhere that emperors get that faded look as they're changing from juvi to adult. Maybe that's what going on with yours? As long as he's eating and acting normal, I think he'll be ok.

I hope so R. I'll really gotta keep an eye on him. His whole body is faded, except the dorsal fin, it still has the blue and purple colors.

Hey guys ! Hope all is well. Its been a while as usual. But as for the latest with my 220, its a total disaster. About less than a month ago, I bought a Queen, and she was fine for a week. But then she got sick with lymphsis and ick. She didn't make it and then everybody got ick. It was a bad outbreak, I lost a nemo and skunk clown and a Emperor Angel. I took all the rocks out last night and put them in a 30 gal trash can with a heater and pump. I just started to bring the salinity down, but I was wondering what you guys think of me putting in copper in the tank instead of going with hypo. I don't have a lot of sand in the tank, but I do have a DSB in the refugium and live rocks as my filter media. Anyhelp would be great guys, thanks !

Hey guys, right now I have a 5in Blue Tang, a small yellow tang, a Niger and Blue Trigger and a skunk clown. Everybody is doing fine, and all the spots are gone. Can I use copper -?

I might be in the minority here, but I wouldn't do anything, I would leave the rock in, don't do hypo, don't do copper, just let them be, ick is not typically fatal in a non-stressed fish. Leave them be, but don't even think about adding anything for 2+ months. And in the future, though I don't currently use one, get a QT set up for any future additions.
The fish I would keep the closest eye on is the Tang, unlikely the Triggers will be affected.
Again, don't take this as the final word, I would like to hear opinions of Aqua, Campbell, SrFisher and others, but that is what I would do at this point.

+1 Exactly what I would do.

Going off "everyone is doing fine," I would agree with for now, ride out the storm. Healthy/unstressed fish should be able to be Ich. Monitor everyone closely, and watch to see if any of them get worse. Bring the salinity back up to normal, slowly. Try to keep the temp. on the south side of 80°.
If you do have to treat in the future, don't hypo. It's one of the biggest PITAs on large tanks. You'd be doing non-stop water changes. I have treated a display before with Cupramine. I have had awesome with Cupramine not bonded to the LR, tank, equipment, and sand. I also dare say that Cupramine doesn't completely wreck the bio-fitlers. On my 55gal QT, if I missed a water change, I knew it, nitrates would go up quickly. With Cupramine, it's been lots more forgiving. Luckily the refugium on that setup could be turned off (via ball valve). If possible, I would say rather play it safe with the fuge.
But that's if we have to come to it. For now, just feed well, instead of a one large meal a day do 2, or even better, 3 smaller meals. And keep the water quality top notch.
