pH: 7.8
ate: 0
ite: 0
amm: 0
temp 81.4 F (Arizona summer sucks w/out a chiller)
Added 2 teaspoons of the Kent Superbuffer. It said to wait 24 hours so I'll see if there is any change tomorrow.

No, you're right about the Stylophora. The LFS said it was birdsnest (which isn't too far off i guess) but after research it looks more like a stylophora. Fat tips instead of pointy.
The zoa with the green middle too? No clue, I couldn't find anything at zoaid.com, closest I could find is the planet earth but I doubt it's that.
I really want to get a midas down the road, their colors are awesome, and their tail is cool with those banners trailing.

Tested pH again 7.8

So I dosed 2 teaspoons of the superbuffer again. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
LOL...You probably know a lot more about this than I do, BUT do you test your ph at different times? I was told once to test right after lights come on...then a little later on

Ya pH dips at night. A fuge light with cheato on a night cycle helps.
I test in the middle of the day where the pH should hopefully be at the normal level. I don't like dosing, but I don't like drab corals either lol.
Water changes should help but I can't really do any bigger than 10 gallons at a time.
Oh and can anyone confirm that pH drops naturally over time?

That's what I'm thinking. A necessary evil.
But maybe this is like weed, a gateway drug. You start dosing for pH, then you get a bottle of purple up, next thing you know you're stuck dosing vitamin C and you alienate all of your fellow reefers trying to score some of the "C" lol.

So I went to the LFS today. Needless to say I had to write myself an I.O.U. for next months fish budget lol.
NEW STUFF!!!!

New Zoas on a pretty sweet rock (tons of hitchhikers). An ID would be cool too.

Trumpet corals, sorry kind of blurry.

And the one I'm pretty excited about
:
Red monti cap

Now the obligatory FTS:

Thank you!
I'm a little worried about the monti cap, but that is mostly because I've never kept one and I don't know what healthy looks like.

basically if it has color is okay, I'm sure someone else will have a more technical opinion but monti caps are pretty hardy.
