Sunday or Satuday would work better for me, preferably Sunday @ 2:00 if that works for you?
How about sunday at 3 or 4? The later the better for me but he closes at 5

Do I need to have a fan in my lighting canopy if it is open like in the picture below? There are 2 175w MH and 2 fluorescent actinic tubes. The fan is really loud so I was going to replace it, but I figured I might not even need one since it is an open canopy.
Let me know what everyone thinks.

My scopus tang died today...I found him in stuck in one of the big power heads in the back... Do you think he could have got sucked against it and could not get out? Or did he just die somehow and then get sucked in?

How long have you had the scopas tang?
I have had him for 2 months or so, maybe a little bit longer.

What are your exact parameters?
Nitrites, Nitrates, and Ammonia are all at 0.
Salinity 1.024
PH 8.2
I am in the process of dosing calcium and DKH buffer to raise them a bit. I just bout the test kits and calcium was at 10 and DKH was at 9.6. So the DKH was pretty close to where it should be, but the calcium is supper low.

Did you notice anything wrong before this happened?
I did not notive anything wrong...
He did get his fins cut a little bit by my large coral branded shrimp a few weeks ago. I am thinking maybe the coral branded got a hold of him...I am not sure if he would be fast enough to catch him though.
Everything else is doing well. No snails, hermits, cleaner shrimp, coral branded or corals have died recently. Well except for my acro which got the brown jelly disease or something.
Any other ideas?
Another thing to mention. I was feeding him mysis shrimp. Over the last week or so he seemed to be eating a lot less, I did not really think anything of it at the time. Could it be that he tired of mysis shrimp and then just did not eat and starved or something?

big update coming tomorrow. Well, mostly equipment update. Have been spending too much new equipment to get a lot of new corals and fish. I am getting a pair of clowns this weekend though!

Alright first new addition the tank was replacing the old Iwaki in line pump with a poseidon T-4 pump. Both pumps get close to the same GPH, but the poseidon is silent. I cannot hear the pump even if I have my ear three inches away from it. This thing does not make any noise at all and I am not exagerating. Great pump, would recommend to everyone!

Second new addition. A Aqua EV-120 skimmer with a quiet one 3,000 pump. Another highly recommended piece of equipment was producing a nice dark sludge in two days time. Very easy to set up, very little adjusting to get working properly. As long as my sump level stays relatively level I never have to adjust the skimmer.

I also got a JBL auto-top off. This was extremely easy to set up and works very well. The only complaint I have about the auto-top off is the extremely loud beep that it emits when the pump is in operation. If you take the cover off you can actually turn a switch to turn the alarm off though, which is a nice feature. You can also set the max duration for the pump to run. Anywhere from 30 seconds to 6 minutes. If the pump operates longer than the set time, the auto-top off will shut off and you will have to reset it before it becomes operational again. I nice preventative feature.
Finally, I got to of the Koralia #3 power heads and an aqua medic temperature controller. I mounted the temp controller and auto-top off displays to the front of the cabinet. Here are some pictures!

I painted it with krylon fusion paint. It is actually flaking off right now...not quite sure why. The paint has not come off of my overflow box just the pvc. The bottle said it could be used both on acrylic and pvc. There were a couple of people on the forums that recommended it to me and said theirs had been fine for over 2 years. Maybe I did not clean the pvc off enough before painting it...not sure.
