yea i got my pc's runnin.. 65x2 10000k, and 65x2 actinic + 4 lunars.. the coraline looks to be coming back stronger since i rid the tank of that crab!

ill get some pics when i pipe in the fuge.. i drilled it today, but now i need to drill the sump, and that involves shutting it off and emptying it! :scared:
but that will give me the 75 gallon tank + 20 gallon sump + separate 15 gallon fuge blacked out in the back and sides with a lid and light on top.. im gonna try running the fuge light 24/7 to aid in the nitrate removal and oxygenation! WOO HOO! should be even better water soon!
my levels are all still at 0, except the nitrates..they are at 2.5ppm (not too big a deal) and that is with 2 perculas, a scooter blenny, and a cleaner wrasse in the tank... I still hope that fast cycle doesnt come back to bite me in the arse! But with all levels being soo good, it looks like the cycle is behind me! Im gonna wait at least another month before adding the next fish, and the clean up crew is on its way! I wish this worm lookin thing with tenticles would come out of the rock so i can get a good pic of it.. looks cool, sorta like a dandelion that turned white and only has a few pieces of cotton left.. he stays in the hole though and barely even lets the tenticles out... looks neat though, so im gonna keep him..for now!.. maybe i will have to boil him down the road! LOL

Well, it looks like I won't be re-doing the baffle walls after all. Because of the size and the way it was made. But I'll try to make it work by placing some rock rubbles in the way of the incoming flow so it won't blow the sandbed everywhere. I just need to go purchase the tubings tomorrow and get it setup and ready for water. Probably have to wait til Monday for water. For the poster above, I haven't seen nitrate in my tank forever! My DSB takes care of that part. Once the fuge system is up, it would be even better. Gonna make to one of the reef club meetings this month to do a DIY modification on my maxi-jet to give it more flow. Can't wait.... And Jerth, those DARN HERMITS!!! I'm still pissed off at mine, they're still moving stuffs around..... :happyfish

My Snails don't cause a bit of a problem for me. I don't think I have enough snails though, gonna get some more snails one of these days. My Astrea & Black Turbo snails have grown HUGE! The Nassarius and the Cerith Snails stays mostly in the sandbed, I need more snails to clean my glass so more Astrea and Turbo Snails!!! Only the darn Hermits moves my frags around! It's ok on the fuge part, at least it gives me an idea on my next project of a new fuge when I setup a bigger tank sometime soon. By this summer I hope, but I'll keep this one running, but will move all my corals into the bigger tank and maybe do anemone or something in this one. We'll see what happens.... :happyfish

Some parts of my sandbed is only 2" and some are 3" I do have the anerobic bacteria that gets rid of nitrates. Most says you need 4"+ for that. I don't think so!!! But everyone have different setups and I think each person have different stuffs that goes on at different times. So it may not work for you like it works for me. It just depends! :happyfish

What size are you looking to set up? I have been cleared to get a bigger tank down the road, well like in three years!!! But when that happens I have been cleared to spend between 7,000-10,000 dollars on one...... I have a savings account just set up for it.... I know crazy... but I love this stuff!!!

You know another good thing about getting another tank for my corals is that it gives'em more room to grow. And for the existing tank I can do frags to sell and trade, plus any new corals can go in it for observation just in case it has red bugs or nudibranch! So it would help me in many ways!!! :happyfish

well, if this helps, i have never done a waterchange.. the tank is almost 4 weeks old now.. had a crazy fast cycle in a week and a half.. ammonia went up then down along with nitrites.. the nitrates went up then stabilized at 5ppm when i added the clowns, and has since dropped to 2.5ppm with no water changes after adding the other 2, so i guess its either the algae growin or the bed takin care of it..
dont worry.. im doin a waterchange tomorrow... when i added the perculas, i watched the ammonia.. it never went up.. i added a scooter blenny, and a cleaner wrasse... and still no raise in the levels, thats when the nitrates went down to 2.5ppm..
