Another 10g Diary.

I went to move the tank this morning and found there was a crack. How it got there I don't know. I decided that since the tank needed to be resealed I could just have the glass replaced... only about 15 bucks for a new pane of glass.
I have the tank sitting here almost stripped. I hope by the weekend I can have the tank back together and tested afterwhich I can start building the stand or just buy one. We'll see how it goes.

ended up tossing the 45 and picked up a 30 gallon long yesterday on craigslist. Picked up 2 x 4's and started building the stand today.
Not looking to do anything fancy, just something simple to save a bit of cash. I'm gonna finish putting on the panels and doors hopefully this weekend and have the tank up by sunday!

curry if you can, I'd suggest doing a 20 long sump/refugium. what overflow are you doing?

And do you intend to drill the tank for the overflow?
I do have the space for a 20 long underneath so I'll see if I can get my hands on one. If not I still have the 5.5 or the 10 gallon laying around that I can use.
I need to do my research on sumps, overflows and just options for plumbing in general. Then I can give you guys a better idea on where I'd like to go with this.
I'd like to avoid drilling the tank if possible just to lessen the amount of things that could go wrong. I'd also need to find someone nearby to do it for me if I decide to go that route.

What do you guy suggest for a CUC? For fish I already have a
clown goby
spotted prawn goby
green spotted puffer
I'm thinking about maybe adding one clown to finish it off. 4 fish should be more than enough I think... lol...
I already have about 15 assorted hermits, 3 tongan nassaruis and 1 turbo. I'm thinking another 12 random snails like cerith, nas and turbos. ( i know i seriously need more snails)
My next shipment of corals sometime this week are going to be (zoas)
Bam Bams
Miami hurricanes
common purple zoas

As far as the stand goes I need to do some touching up and then get the pieces cut for the top and sides. Then do a floor, doors, trim and decide if I want to stain it or just paint it black. I need to double check everything with my level and i'll be good to go
The weather here has been COLD so I didn't get to go out and do any cutting so maybe on monday or tuesday ill be done.
I already made and installed 3 frag racks into the tank and cleaned it up.
Still deciding if i'm going to drill the tank, but i'm leaning towards not drilling... probably do that when I build my 90 gallon much later =)

Finally got the tank goin! All the inhabitants are doing well and eating. Corals are opened up and happy. I have a few more frags coming sometime this week and next week.
YES i know the stand is ugly but its solid and my first piece of carpentry. LOL. no plans to paint it or anything. Going to put on the doors this weekend and leave it as it is.
My plans for filtration as of now will be an Aquaticlife skimmer in the AC70.
Lighting will be upgraded to a nova extreme x2 96watt T5HO
Here are some pics. Still cloudy in the tank and i need more LR. Ill get some better pics later this week.

Nope no more 5g no more 10g. Everything I had was transferred into the 30g.
Not enough time to go around checking all those tanks. Things are MUCH easier with the 30G. Plus with the 30g I can use it as a frag tank and main display tank.

What do you guys think I can do to start stocking the tank? For filtration I have the AC70 modded and I plan on getting the Aquaticlife Skimmer. So I should be good with 6 or 7 small sized fish? Pushing it?
I already have 2 gobies... (clown and spotted prawn) So I was thinking I could add:
1 - Clown
3 - Green Chromis
1- random goby (or other small fish that doesnt rest on the bottom or rockwork)

I'd say your pushing it with that many fishes for the nutrient exportation. i'd say 5 max, i pushed it with 3 in a 10 and in the end i couldnt handle it and now just have one. look into a cryptic six line wrasse. will help keep the pods down and it doesnt get super aggressive like a regular six line

Sounds good. I'll leave the chromis for another day and another tank.
How about another random goby, clown and the cryptic six line?
Oh on another note I got my zoas in today! Pics to come later =)
