Couldn't resist... Plus I got a NICEEE deal on the frags...
Yea the 5 gallon which will be my mini frag tank also. I'm going to do a small goby in there and the pistol shrimp. Right now I have 2 turbo snails, 3 jade hermits and 2 scarlet hermits. I think theres also one cerith snail too...
I think its a bit much for a CUC so I'm gonna take out one jade hermit and one scarlet and put those back into my 10g
My CUC for the 10G will be 3 jade hermits, 3 scarlet and a couple turbo/nassarius snails.
The jades are amazing when it comes to cleaning the tank. I had them one day and my rocks are practically clean...
I chose not to use blue legs since i hear they are pretty violent at times...
Once the frags in my 5g grow out a bit I will frag them and place them in the 10g....

If I have a 10 gallon wouldnt that mean 10 members for a CUC?
6 hermits in total and 4 snails
the break down would be
3 jade hermits, 3 scarlet and 4 random snails...

Who told you that?!?!?! hahaha
Your clean up crew is not limited to the size of your tank really. The amount of cuc you need depends on the amount of cleaning that needs to be accomplished.. If you have algae.. you add acouple of snails and crabs... if it doesnt go away or gets worse.. you add acouple more... when it looks to be stable/ gone you stop...
If you look up the care sheet for scarlet hermits, it says there should be only one in every 10g,, like how some fish need to be in 50+ tanks ect. Every animal has a care sheet.. before buying read on what that animal cleans or does.. the advantages and disadvantages of having it,, and how much space is required for it!
When I started getting my cuc I started with:
3 blue hermits
7 nassarius snails
waqited aouple of weeks still had algae
added
3 holloween hermits
3 turbos
waited again for a while,, still had algae
added
7 cerith snails
7 astrea snails
1 green emerald crab
Algae leveled off... cuc was efficient enough.. decided to stop.
Thats how you go about putting together a cuc.
Some people say my cuc is to much for a 10g and I'd argue that it isnt.. I dont have any spikes,, and my algae problems are minimal..
I acctually think I need to add more, since I think some of the snails got eaten or died off. Especially the astrea snails, I've only seen 2 out of the 7.

Interesting... I did read a scarlet hermit care sheet and didn't see anything about that. I'll see if I can link you to it when I find it.
Well the algae is under control, water is clear and numbers are good. I have to test nitrates again tonight to see where im at.
Zoa's came in today. Took care of them after work and they are doing fine in the tank, all three frags opened up already and look great!
I'll post some pics later, gotta find my camera.

Thanks! I thought they were when I first saw them. They are Radioactive Dragon Eyes..
From top to bottom:
1. Wham'n Watermelons (roughly 8 polyps)
2. Yellow Submarine Morph (3-5 polyps)
3. Radioactive Dragon Eyes (12+ polyps)

10 Gallon Updates:
It is now fully cycled and ready to go.
5 Gallon Updates:
Zoa's are doing great. Water parameters are great.
I think I have copepods... I woke up and I was looking in the tank and the glass was covered with these tinyyyyyy little white specs. They would dart from spot to spot reallllly fast... I did some searching around and apparently they are copepods.
Its been about 4 days and there are TONS of them now...
This week I will be placing an order for livestock for both tanks..
10 gallon:
CUC- Hermits, Nerites and an Orange turbo
1 False Clown
1 Pistol Shrimp
5 Gallon:
1 Pistol Shrimp
1 Goby (not sure but I want one that DOESN'T jump!)
Suggestions, comments and suggestions on stock lemme know!

This week I plan on finally adding more live rock and a CUC to the 10 gallon.
Pics of the 5 Gallon: Lots of new zoa heads popping up from each of the frags!

Good start lol. fill up the tank!
Thats the plan... lol.
I still need to put in my frag racks for the 5 gallon thats why there isn't much rock pictured. just enough to let some zoa's grow out on to it.

Well no more 5 gallon / 10 gallon diary. Its now going to be 45 gallons! I got my tank earlier this evening... I got it free... of course its used and needs to be resealed but still good.
I haven't decided if I want to buy the stand or build it. We'll see what happens.
The plan as of now is to build up the stand, fix the tank. For now the tank will run on the modded AC70 I have until I can figure out how I want to do my plumbing (suggestions are welcome)
Livestock is the last thing on my mind as of now. but for the curious folk... everything in the 5 and 10 gallon will go in there... which is:
- prawn goby
- citron clown goby
- green spotted puffer
- peppermint shrimp
- reb, blue, jade hermits
- 3 tongan nassarius snails
- 2 cerith
- zoas
I know ill need a bigger CUC. As far as what other fish I wanna add... I dunno! But suggestions are welcome also.
