my girlfriend and I are leaving from Virginia to drive down to the florida keys and we are going to camp on Dry Tortugas. we are hoping and praying the oil doesnt not damper our camping reservations. As of now, everything is a go. I cant wait to snorkel in those reefs baby. :)

Personally the oil hitting the loop is a good thing, it sucks it out of the gulf. You see that they can't get the corps of engineers to authorize the emergency berm?
Nope. What's that all about?

They want to dredge along the shore to create sand berms that the oil would collect on. Then they would just have the remove the sand rather than deal with the oil washing up on shore and the fed wont approve it, or at least haven't yet. Sounds like a good idea in theory anyway.

Almost like the way some of the departments work around here. I swear they have meetings to schedule the next meeting. Not sure how they get anything done.

Sometimes I wonder what reality dems are in. The govt and Bp came up with that 5k number. So the bp has lost all credibility bit is a little ironic. But Obama saying the American people deserve transperency takes the cake.
I don't know what reality Dems are in, I seem to be stuck in a reality that was caused when ---- Cheney ripped off his arm in a conservative ceremony and used it to open a worm hole to an alternative earth........
But anyway if the oil spill kills off the reefs around Key West can we charge them LFS price for all the dead stock?

Well the gov't is really laying it on them this morning. Seems like BPs "straw" solution isn't putting a dent into the spill. I was wondering if this spill could actually put BP out of business.

Maybe Obama will just take all BP's US assets, he doesn't got hiself a oil company yet

It's going to depend on how much this effects the fisheries. If BP is found neglegent the cap on economic damages goes away. If the fisheries are killed off it's gonna be ugly.

I guess I just don't understand the animosity. Why bother politically posturing? Instead of throwing BP under the bus, why not focus on fixing the problem, then call your witch hunt investigative bodies later...

What witch hunting, I already posted I bet those reps from the oil company who got the grilling by Congress more than likely went out to dinner or something with the same people afterwords. The whole thing is crazy, I have seen a post that BP and the Coast Guard stopped filiming of the damage, that BP has illegals cleaning up the oil spill, the stuff they are spraying on it to break it up might be almost as bad. I disagreed at first that this is Obama's Katrina, but of course a month in and yes I would agree it is looking like it. The government screwed up, so if they can get that leak fixed fairly soon, my expectation is they will try to get it out of the headlines as soon as possible and BP will continue to be a major campaign contributor and then back to business as usual.
