There is no doubt ELF would do it if they could figure out how but like you said, nobody in that group is close to being smart enough to pull it off.
Look at all the jihadists have to work with and they are the king of the terrorist block... Looks like bush may have had it right after all.

Well seems like the straw approach isn't working very well now and are planning to the plug method next.

One thing that is getting on my nerves is how the gov't can keep preaching how they are not confident with BP fixing the problem. Well then WTF is the gov't doing about it? Nothing! Even the people of Lousiana are tired of their governor's talk so they are taking matters into their own hands. Damn gov't ... just blah, blah, blame, blame ....

And they're gonna be running our healthcare soon....
This is funny too. The EPA says stops using dispursant X. You have all these others to choose from. BP goes and looks, and their is only 2 they can buy in suffecient quanitities. The one they are using or the one that creates birth defects in animals. Then the EPA says oh we're gonna make you stop.

LOL, what do they really want them to do? The states still haven't gotten an answer about their dredging plan. The lamestream media would have crucified a Republican for this fiasco yet hardly a word about the Ossiah's thumb twittling.

lol, Mary L. Democrat just said, "if you made 50k last year, and you didn't make that this year. BP is going to cut you a check for 50k. If your business made 1 million dollars last year, and you didn't this year BP is going to cut you a check."
I wonder if that means the oil companies that can't drill this year because of the spill...

What? You thought the federal overseers were doing their jobs. Guess again ...

I'm surprised you don't see more planes falling out of the sky.
Or from another article:
WASHINGTON - Staff members at an agency that oversees offshore drilling accepted tickets to sports events, lunches and other gifts from oil and gas companies and used government computers to view pornography, according to an ******** Department report alleging a culture of cronyism between regulators and the industry.
In at least one case, an inspector for the Minerals Management Service admitted using crystal methamphetamine and said he might have been under the influence of the drug the next day at work, according to the report by the acting inspector general of the ******** Department.
The report cites a variety of violations of federal regulations and ethics rules at the agency's Louisiana office. Previous inspector general investigations have focused on inappropriate behavior by the royalty-collection staff in the agency's Denver office.

You can't trust meth heads to do anything right.

And the plug method may be attempted today. Do you think it will work? I am very skeptical!
Last I heard, they were still debating on whether they were even going to try it. They've never done this at this depth, and the concern is once they do the filling, if the back pressure of the well will end up blowing out two or three other 'escape holes', thereby making the spill worse.

Interesting. BP just admitted neglegence, I do believe that throws the 75 million cap out the door.
The plug will eventually work, just a matter of if they can do it yet, they may have to let the pressure in the well drop off some more.

Actually the depth might help with that. The higher pressures, mean less of a difference inside and outside the piping.

That was my first thought too. If they are admitting mistakes, I don't see how they can't be liable to pay everyone.

I'm guessing the engineers know what they are doing but I was wondering if it were possible to not cover it right, pressure builds and then boom ... the pressure explodes out.

In court there is a difference between mistake and negligence, big difference. A mistake would be someone accidentally flipped a swich they shouldn't have or opened the wrong valve. Negligence would be using a valve you knew was bad because you didn't have another or continuing to do work on a well after a test showed there was an issue with it.
