But, I'll probably keep a close eye on that and not let it get to crazy to stop them from working.

My calcium runs at like 500. Is that bad?

I haven't had the problem yet, but from what I have read if it gets to high it can start effecting your pumps and other equipment because of to much calcium deposits. It seems most people keep it at 400-450. If you have SPS you might need to run it a little higher, just keep an eye on your equipment.

Not sure if this is what you were wanting, or if you were wanting some straight down shots of live rock/corals/fish. I'll be adding more egg crate to both sides once my Goby is added.

My husband should be starting on the canopy this week, so once that's done things will change. We are still debating the MH vs. T5 fixtures.

I'm still trying to find some clip on fans to put on my tank, to see how low the temp will drop with a fan going.

What kind of lights are those $45 apiece lights that you were talking about? Does coraline algae grow better with them as opposed to florescent lights?

I would go with T5s because they run cooler and cheaper. Also if you go with MH and you cant control the temp you would have to spend a fortune on a chiller. I just think that T5s are much less of a risk and they are cheaper in the long run.

They are 36" Aqualight T-5 Double Lamps, 10,000K/Actinic. My purple coraline is growing great with these lights, but I think it has more to do with my calcium level, maybe both. So far zoos and green star polyps do very well with my lights. I just want it brighter and I want to someday add a clam and anemone. But, these are great lights to start out with until you know exactly what you want. At $45 a piece, you can't go wrong.

Our Sleeper Goby has been added to the DT.
He's sifting away and doing a great job. My only complaint is he is giving my GSP a sand bath and it's not wanting to fully bloom, so I might have to move it up off the sand. He swims around all over the tank, but if you get to close he'll go into his hiding spot.

I also found one of my emerald crabs turned over in the sand dead. Or at least I thought he was dead. I took him out and it didn't seam like there was anyway he could have molted because it was whole. But then after it dried I cut it in half and it was hallow.
Did he die and a snail sucked out his insides, or do you think he molted? I rarely see all three crabs at once, so it might take me a while to figure out what happened.

sorry about your loss, but its a learning experience right? speaking of new fish, i also got a new royal gramma, and most of the empolyees there complimented my choice, which made me worry, cuz they always do that when you buy a fish that has a problem, but it ate within the first two days, and is active!
*PS, are those HO(High Output)? might run those with my PC

If it is whole, and empty, its a molt. They look exactly like a full crab.
I believe those are "no" T lights.

They are NO, nothing special. I'm hoping to upgrade when my canopy is built. Still waiting for that to happen.
