Thanks for the kind words. It still looks pretty empty compared to yours.

This is another shot I took tonight and thought it was decent enough to share. So my question above might be silly but oh well. (It's my thread and I can ask it if I want to.
) I have four fish and two corals, can you find all of them? The one coral might give you some trouble.

I tried to make this picture larger so you can see it better, but for some reason it is not coming up larger on this site.
So
to anyone who can see that fourth coral.

Definitely
but I have to get my Anthias first (or blue Chromis, haven't decided yet), then I will be adding a Yellow and Hippo Tang.
I'm just dying to get them, I can't wait.

My Royal Gramma is in QT right now, so we still have over two weeks to decided on the Anthias or Chromis.

I was thinking Lyretail, one male, two female. But I've been told they can be a harder fish to take care of so I'm not sure. I understand the Blue Green Chromis (would get at least three) are nice fish and easy to take care of, but I love the color of the Anthias. So I'm still thinking. Do you have any feedback on these two fish?

Lyretails are a great looking fish. They can be touchy, I started with 12, (3M & 9F) and lost 2 males in the first 2 weeks. They have since been replaced and all are doing well. Chromis are nice too, they school together well and never seem to hide. They are hardier than the Anthias. I some that are over 3 years old and they just keep going. They are much cheaper, but if I were to choose between the two, I would go with the Anthias for the color they add to the tank.

Thanks for your thoughts Goodwin. I think someone told me if I want three Anthias in my tank, to start off with five, but that's a little expensive to do. Maybe I'll start off with three, and then if I lose two, I still have the one.
Do they do ok as a single?
I also thought, the Chromis stay pretty small, right? So having six would be possilbe in my tank and it would be pretty cool to see the school of fish swimming around. Maybe one Anthias and five Chromis?
This is a hard decision.
The other two fish I am definitely getting is a Blue Hippo Tang and a Yellow Tang. This is what I have now:
2 False Perc
2 Bangaii Cardinals
1 Sleeper Goby
1 Royral Gramma

I would get three anthias, I am pretty sure they do better in groups of three (1 male 2 females). I think you would still have room for a couple chromises they get to a couple inches so I would just get three.

I don't think a single Anthias would make it. Some of my older Chromis are 3" but it has taken a while to get to that size. I would be surprised if you were to loose a Green Chromis, where I wouldn't if you were to loose an Anthias.

With the Anthias, my experience has been if they are going to make it, they will be gone in days to a few weeks. After a month, if they are still around, you've gotten good ones. I have some in one of my tanks that I have had for a few years now and have spawned in the tank. I've read that they need to be fed 3 to 4 times a day, which I don't do, so maybe that has been my problem with them.

I forgot about the whole feeding 3-4 times a day.
So how many times do you feed them now? What do you feed them? Right now I'm feeding my tank pellets, flake and frozen mysis (this is the only thing my Cardinals will eat).

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of it, as it's my very first saltwater tank. My husband built the stand and did the plumbing, but everything else has been all me, so not bad for a beginner I think (and a girl
). Of course my tank has only been up for 3 months, so I guess time will tell.

I try to get them fed twice a day, flakes in the morning, and a variety of frozen items and flakes at night.

I finally got a good shot of "Sandy". My 8 year old daughter named him (or "her" according to my daughter).

Also, I GOT MY DOORS!!!!!
Now we'll see how long it takes for them to get stained and then onto the stand. The doors for my canopy are also done, but the canopy has not been started yet.

Woo hoo! Finally the doors! They look nice! My doors will look similar to yours. Tank is looking great by the way. Keep it up, you're an inspiration!

Tried to take some better pictures of the tank, and then I posted to photobucket, instead of picturetrail, and it looks like these picture are bigger. I like photobucket a lot more!
(Next time I won't make them so big, just wasn't sure how they would turn out.)
