Back to the Draft?

Vyper One-
What a bunch of "spoiled", "it's all about me", "self centered" jerks this country has. Imagine back when this country was founded if we had a bunch of wimps and draft dogders... Where would our country be today... It disgusts me to see anyone in this country who would run rather than fight... I have three children and I would never even suggest they run like cowards to Canada to avoid doing their duty for their country even when its not their country they are fighting for. How pathetic and unpatriotic can you possibly be? You are willing to suck our country dry of all its spoils and riches but when it comes to protecting it and serving you turn and run. I can only hope someone shoots you in the back as you do run.
I decided a long time ago that I just don't agree with the current politics our nation is employing. Therefore, I will not serve in our military. I signed my SSS and I passed through me draftable ages without problem. I however would not hesitate to protect the citizens of this country in the event of invasion. But the likely hood of that happening is remote. There has not been an invasion of a first world country since I believe world war 2. So unless the world goes to hell or the current politic situation lands us in a lot of hot water. I prefer to serve my country in a way that suits me by keeping in running economically.
So vyperone I did not dodge the draft and if someone decided to take away the liberties I have. I personally will show them what hell is really like.

Thats great blackomne... I always like to think that an invasion by outside forces would never succeed here in the US simply because of people like you and me.
Unfortunately war is politics, whether we agree with them or not...
I think our world is not a better place, the US sticks its nose in places it shouldnt and then when it realizes its made a mistake fails to pull out... On the other hand how can we as Americans standby and watch what equates to another Hitler regime (sp) kill, and torture innocent people and not do something about it.
Iraq is one big mess, the President knows it, we know it... but can you imagine what will happen if we all just leave Iraq? What will happen to all those people?
Sorry, I have been to Germany and have seen the ovens and gas chambers where innocent people were murdered simply because they were different... Torture is torture, politics are the basis for war...
You and I may not agree with the politics but you can't tell me you agree with letting those people to suffer a death unlike any of you have seen...

I so agree. Most don't know are not told the acrocities that have happened over there. The mass killings in bosnia (was it?)barely made a headline here. That's the reason we should be there so show it to everyone. Edit: Dangit. But I feel when it comes to freedoms you should not have them handed to you but you should be fighting for them. Instead of fighting for freedom they are killing us.

ANd would you not consider 9/11 an invasion?
there's allways the threat of an invasion.. perhaps there's more chances than it seems.. perhaps it's right around the corner.. so many countries in this world that hate us..

Ill tell you what, I have a lot of stuff going good for me right now. I really have no desire to leave. But, if it gets passed and my number comes up...consider me on the first plane to wherever they want to send me. Ive been saying it for years.

Actually I consider 911 an atrocity conceived in the mind of a pathetic corrupt deranged child. An invasion is long term commitent of of massive forces. 911 was what they called it an act of terrorism. Which requires minimal forces used in spot singular events.

And for the people who have the "I'll go fight for my country" Let me tell you something. I work hard every day, and pay my bills, and mind my own business, I'm a reasonable, honest man. I don't wish harm on anyone. I want to talk out my issues and resolve them. For the 18 year old tough guy's who want to be heroes out there, it is very unwise to go dodge bullets for reasons unknown to you.
