I was thinking there - but it is a little close to the front glass - I like to be able to run my mag float cleaner on every inch of the front glass.

Now, I am hi jacking the thread a bit (sorry Al but feel free to yell at me
) The derasa's prefer to live on the sand and they loosely attach to things if they even attach to anything. They do need strong lighting.

Gemmy, you can hijack my threads anytime, I think I do it all the time, to be honest i really don't understand this whole hijacking thread thing, if you have something relevent to say, then hijack away. I have been reading up on clams a bit, derasa yes substrate but they are the largest between the crocea and derasa, they can get up to 24" in the wild. Crocea are much smaller and prefer to attach to rock, size 6". Maxima 12" in the wild.

I got the two light bulbs you guys/gals suggested - I love them ATI blue super & ATI Purple plus - thanks for your suggestions.
Did not get the clam didn't like the looks of them and I am worried my CB is going to bother it.

all my daylights just went out and a blue acitinic and purple plus are on - what an amazing difference - the tank looks so vibrant - the fluorescence are amazing, I wish there was spell check for acitinic
