Looks good just hope I can get close using only T5's.
I have a small piece of orange digitata under T5HO's and it is coming around (it was a break off)
ANYWAY...I have seen quite a few tanks on this site with some BEAUTIFUL sps under T5HO lighting...Just be sure you get the ones that come with the individual reflectors

I will have to check to see if mine do or not and if not I will have to add some pieces in to make them. What is the normal watts per gallon for sps in a 24" tall tank?

Well, my tank is 28" tall (I think?) and I have three 150watt MH and 4 96watt PC's on it (it's a 155 non-bow front tank). The SPS still needs to be on the top third of the tank. I don't really go by the whole "watts per gallon" theory. SPS just belongs up top in my tank because I also have A LOT of LPS and softies.

This is a beautiful tank and love the rockwork. I guess I need to post some pics tonight of my tank so far even though there is a Hair Algae problem that is coming under control.

Why did I even ask?
But yes, he has T5HO's, he's like the biggest defender of SPS growing under them. If I didn't get such an awesome deal on my MH's, I'd still have T5's because of how his tank looks with them.

I love the look the T5's have on my 29G. My 225G is too deep though, so MH were the only way to go on that one

Yeah, my 155 was too deep for T5's as well because it's a non-bow front. I hated the MH's at first, but bought new bulbs, and it made all the difference in the world. We're in the market for a 30+ gallon refugium for this tank, and T5's are definitely going on that.

PlusRite 14K HQI bulbs (150watt)
They're cheap and we weren't sure about them but they're great. Very crisp white with just enough hint of blue. Since they're not a well known company they're much cheaper as well. So far, no complaints.

I'm not really sure to be totally honest with you, with deeper tanks T5's just don't cut it in the long run. All I can tell you is that I started with T5HO's on this tank (with single reflectors and 420nm actinics) and even if the SPS was only at the top 1/3 of the tank, it still wouldn't grow. The only SPS I was able to keep under T5's was monti caps. LPS on the other hand, grew like crazy at all levels of the tank. If you look through my pics, you can see a little bit of the difference between when I started with T5's and now (although it's much more of a difference in person). The tank is still only 4 or so months old.
I can say this though, with the halides, everything is fuller and has a more vibrant color than before. My one set of acans has completely changed color, mushrooms are fuller, lobo is splitting like crazy, frogspawn's growing, etc. Even the color of my fish pops more.
I would PM NYCbob if you really want to learn about T5's and keeping SPS. His tank is beautiful.
