CAMERA OPINIONS

Heyas Lois...if it helps, Renee is on her 4th Canon SLR right now (she kept upgrading), so she's definitely a fan of Canon. The last camera she bought was her 5D Mk II, which should hold her awhile since it's a pro model.
As for your red mushrooms looking red, just make sure you adjust the white balance so the camera knows what color everything is. This will really help if you bounce back and forth with different tank lighting. Renee uses the white lid from a pill bottle on a stick and puts it into the tank so the camera knows what "white" is under a given light source. That's assuming they don't look right when you use the "auto WB" setting.
I'm excited for you...new toy!

see how your rocks are blue, they shouldnt be that blue in real life correct? to get the right white balance, try different grey tones and adjust until you find the right grey tone to give you your lighting kelvin

LOL...I know....I was just trying it out.....I am charging the battery, and then probably look into some other stuff :)
It came with 3 disks I have not even opened them yet...
ever hear of step up photography? (accessories to enhance your creativity)
one is EOS Digital solution disk...has some different photo programs on it
and the other is software instruction manual

All I really accomplished so far was setting the time and figuring out how to put the lense on.....haha

i didnt use any of their disks. theres better programs out their to use. one of those disks though do work with RAW files, you might want to try that out. and since its their proprietary program it should know how to read the RAW file perfectly, unlike adobe lightroom.

So far so good, Meow. Can't wait to see the pics once you get everything fine tuned. What kind of lense did it come with...have you shopped around for a compatible macro lense? Canon has some nice ones on their website. I think i've got the wife talked into the T2i for a christmas pressy. Fingers crossed! It's either that or the Sony A-55. The Sony has some nice functions that I wouldn't mind having but not as much of a selection on lenses.

Hey Scott, Where did you get the refractometer from, I ordered one from SWF last saturday, along with a pump and purigen, the refractometer was on back order, wasn't when I ordered it. I haven't received anything yet. Wait and see.
