You got flooded out by ike? I'm sorry about your kittens.
Our cats had their babies in the garage, in the rafters, on some packing blankets my dad had walked out with when he worked as a mover in high school. Needless to day he was furious.
we didnt flood flood but she was so young that she was terrified of the water that was in the yard only a few inches nothing major but since she didnt go back to them they were left on their own all night and it got chilly after the storm front and the kittens just couldnt handle it being so young.
Mike
I just got home from work and there's 4 so far. And she didn't use the nice box I set up, instead opting for the middle of the garage on top of my son's expensive baseball equipment bag. Nasties all over it.

yup! that's what they do
Now keep in mind she can get pregnant right away.....
Yep, that is to be expected. Make sure to put them all in the box, including mama, and there is one other thing...... let me think what it is...... OH Yeah, TAKE PICTURES!!!!!! Especially of you holding one of the little dudes. But wait an hour or so to let them dry out first.
Just got back in. Looks like 4's going to do it. She has cleaned herself up pretty good (still a little nasty on the lower end). I picked ALL of them up, sports bag and all, and laid them all in the box. Let me get the kids in bed and then I'll take some pics for you guys.
DDDDDDDDDDDDD, They are awesome!!!
Looks like you have a good mama there too. You know when we fostered the dog that had the pups, we just kept saying the whole time, How do they know to do that?
That's what my son said. I started to tell him..."well son, if I could find the Daddy, his a-- would be.....(nevermind).
It's crazy though. I have not seen any cat around here. Not grey, white, purple, NOTHING. This might be "divine intervention".....

It is amazing, even I must admit. As pissed as I am to have this happen, the experience of birth/life has no comparison. She is being a great Mom and won't leave their side. She was starving earlier (kept staring at the food bowl), but wouldn't leave the box. I scooped up some and put in front of her, and she sucked it up like a vacuum cleaner.
