I already did a water change but will do another one end of next week. I did not get purigen cause the douche owner of my lfs said to get these stone things instead. Hopefully it won't be a problem. If after AL they are still traceable then I will opt for another media type (prob. purigen) to extinguish them. DO you have a thread or pics of your big tank? With your setup with the MH and no hood how often do you have to top off your water?

Even though I've added some salt water, its just up to 1.023 now. I'll get it up slowly as more water evaporates. The Koralia seems to have done a great job in improving the amount of settled debris on the bottom and rocks. Seems to keep it suspended so it gets taken out with the mechanical filter.
I checked my other parameters:
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Ammonia: not quite 0 but close
ph: still at 7.8 (hopefully this will improve with higher SG) I don' want to add too much buffer.
A coworker of mine gave me several pieces of polyp colonies to get started. A friend also bought me a clown. I will add a picture soon. Tell you how they are doing

So my tan algae diatom bloom is completely gone now. Some of my macroalgae is starting to grow more (from what I've heard thats a good sign). Did a 5 gallon water change yesterday, brought the SG up to 1.024 and the pH has gone up to about 7.9
Everyone seems to be doing well. The clown fish has gotten his appetite. He is quite fiesty with the damsel when it comes to feedings. (good since he's smaller).
Anyways thinking about adding a starfish or emerald crab. Maybe too soon for anything else though.

Took out the large piece of rock on the top that had the vermetid snails. Took some needle nose pliers to try and take off all visible snails. It is now in my qt so i can monitor it. Got a few places of cured rock in place of it. All inhabitants seem to be good. Had some sand being displaced from flow so I changed that up a bit.

Damsel and Cleaner posing.
Diatoms look to be subsiding a little bit. Redirected koralia's to get more flow onto the sand. Hand fed the cleaner, such a cool little shrimp!

Yea, thanks for the advice on the cleaner. Very happy with that purchase! Can't wait for the end of the month to start adding corals!

Yea exactly. I'm just gonna try to take it slow and responsible because I am trying to buy a house pretty soon, so I gotta save some but still slowly stock the tank. If you fedex zoas what kind of shipping costs are we looking at?

Word. I just talked to someone on this site that said she found a legit reef shop about an hour away from me somewhere in orange county. I'm gonna try and hit that place up and price them out and see what kind of selection they can offer. I may just have to make a trip out to MI if not haha. You def. have some sick ass zoas though.
