And in regards to family values? If they'll vote for clinton, why would her daughter getting knocked up stop people from voting from her?
Sounds like something a lot of Americans can relate to these days.

On a side note, anyone else find it amusing that the Presidents speech was shortened and was it even aired in prime time?

I know a lot of good christian people who are in the same boat. If anything, imo it makes her more real... But I don't vote b/c the person is "in touch with america" It is just silly.
btw Thompson's speech wasn't bad... When he said I think this will be the only person who knows how to dress a moose. I laughed and said he is forgetting about teddy. Then he went back and said with the exception of teddy. Made me laugh. The tax bucket analogy is pretty good too.

Also, who is gonna care of her children? I'd imagine a baby with downs takes a lot more time to care for then a "normal" baby. Is her hubby gonna quit his job to be a full time stay at the white house dad? Maybe the 17 year old will take care of the little ones

seriously????

What Vice Pres. wife goes off to a job? Her husband will have to quit his job anyway as he will be moving about 3 thousand miles away and would be caring for the kids anyway. I don't think they have anyone caring for their special needs child except themselves anyway.............just as most normal families.......
Lets not get ADD here folks, the power of distraction can be huge. These are family matters. If the White House/Vice Pres. house walls could talk.......

I think that kid will be the best cared for syndrome kid ever. And not just from his parents.

Curious...Did you actually listen to Fred Thompson's speech? Or just in one ear, out the other?

This is the game... these are your tactics.... These are the stakes... even if it is irrelevant... every rock will be overturned and everything scrutinized... I am enjoying it because th shoe is on the other foot.
I don't recall anyone attacking Obama's children.

I have to agree that the RNC is dry and boring...I was hoping for more, but instead I pretty much just surfed on here. I'm not trying to get into a debate about credibility, etc., just in comparison...the DNC was way more exciting to watch. And I know the libermann speech was on some prime time channels, but I'm not sure about the rest of it.

Nice,
Why is Michelle " Proud" Obama, off limits according to the the Messiah? Yet now I'm seeing pics of the young man and potential second daughter plastered all over the "free press"?
What Michelle says has much more bearing on how Obama thinks, yet we are told to leave her alone.
The "free press" is no longer free, they are in the bus with Obama and working just like they did in 2004 to smear, and destroy to get their candidate elected. Dan Rather knows this well.
BTW Wasn't Obama the result of a similar fling with his mom being 18 when he was born?" Nevertheless, the couple married on February 2, 1961 in Maui, Hawaii. On August 4, 1961, at age 18 she gave birth to Barak Jr
Looks like she had a "shotgun" wedding.
Does this matter? no, but if the Obama campaign is going to make an issue of it, they'd better be careful.

A "respected" member of the liberal "I hate America" community, not the country at large. I have no respect for him as he has not given up his views, nor has he aplologised, in fact the opposite, on a 9/11/01 interview to be so blunt.

You must have missed Fred Thompson's speech, one of the best this year. Had he campaigned like this he would have been the Republican nominee

Best of the year? I don't think so... was it good? It was okay... best of the night maybe... He did a good job recanting McCain's POW story... other than that not much... he had some inaccuratcies with taxes and supreme court justices...

She was in college... and not high school... I don't think the wedding was a shotgun wedding either... nevertheless it really doesn't matter... The whole story questions Palin's positions on absteinace vs -ex education... It also questions if she can parent her 10mos baby, daughter, and granddaughter... while also being a VP... It also questions "conservative ideals" of being the party of family values... How effective can she be... which priority will she have to neglect... job or family?
These are all valid questions... that the media will be asking, and that will get public attention.... Its just the nature of the game.. regardless if it were a republican or democrat.

It was a killer speech. I realize having some meat to back up a speech is a foreign concept to you Obama backers but still it was great

Fred fired up the crowd, that's what it's about. He used humor to make his points. Did a great job. "Best of the night maybe"? Yeah, whatever

Yeah, right. I just hope the media keeps up with the smears on Palin. She may end up with enough coat tails to let the Republicans maintain their levels in congress. My wife works with a woman who is a pretty committed Obamite and even she said she almost feels like voting for McCain just to slap the press in the face

What? His tax arguments were excellent. And simplified it to a way a moron could understand.

These aren't valid question, the only reason these are being asked is because of the (R) behind her name and because she is a she.
If these were valid, why aren't they being raised about obama and his kids? JFK has YOUNG kids too. And we are talking two different things, president and someone running for president.
On a side note what do you think the veep actually does? Not that much, preside over the senate, votes in case of a tie, and give a few speeches, reads the news, attends the important meetings, does some stateman traveling. This isn't like being the president, and speaking of Obama and his fathers should take care of the kids. What do you think Mr. Palin will do? Work in alaska on the northern slopes, I doubt it. He's probably going to be a Mr. Mom. Obama and his hechmen aught to be praising the father...

This just goes back to what I said when the first thread came on here about her. I don't care what party she is. The only reason she got picked was so that McCain would have the diversity edge that Obama already does. He didn't do any research and has no idea what she is going to be like in office. So what if she is a little unorthodox? That does not mean that she is fit to be helping to run the country. And now we find out she would rather be running the country of Alaska?? Please. He could have picked so many other people. Rice would have been a much wiser choice. She already has the respect of the American people and then the race issue wouldn't even need to be talked about because we would have two black people in the presidential race. This is exactly why I don't vote people. Makes me sick.

Can Obama be father to his young family, and be POTUS too?

Good speech... good "red meat" (whatever that means) it may be the best speech by a republican... you are right though... it must have been good to get that crowd going... They were stomping their walkers and and waving their canes...
His whole tax explanation was way off...
