Dairy Cow Info:
Dairy cows have shorter lives due to there breeding. There breed to produce bunches of milk which somewhere along the line also breed shorter life spans into it. But besides a shorter life span they don't really suffer. I've seen lots of dairy farms online and on TV and they treat the cows pretty well. They have fine lives until there time comes.
PETA is an extremist organization that goes way over there head about things and is a little...extreme even for most animal lovers. PETA doesn't think we should have fish in tanks or dogs in cages...yet the president has a pet dog.
thats my 2 cents

Dont dairy cows need to be milked? God wouldnt give them a HUGE milk holder if they werent meant to be milked.
IF they did use

milk, then the operation would be taken into another country to get the milk, and that means that they would be slaving pregnant women in poor countries. Also, this would be encouraging mothers to use their milk to feed people ice cream, not nourish their children? stupid. Also, i know that women dont put out NEAR as much milk as a cow, so the price of the ice cream would sky rocket.
Ben and jerrys is expensive enough, but i do love my "imagine whirled peace" flavor!

People Eating Tasty Animals.
Members of peta are the fruits and nuts of this world that all gather around and figure out a way to annoy society. I like my rib eye medium rare with a nice light pink in the middle with sautéed portabella mushrooms gently laid over the meat. For dessert a nice bowel of cherry Garcia or brownie.
People and the media need to start ignoring these nut jobs and like anything else they will go away once they realize no one cares. I like my chicken defeater-ed, I like a good pig roast with an apple in its mouth and I like my ice cream with cows milk. This is way is was meant to be. Veggies are a side dish not a main dish, if I want a fake hamburger then I would eat the play dough burger my niece makes me when I see her. If I want to eat alfalfa ill go to ***** and dine with the rabbits and guinea pigs. As a human I was meant to be carnivores, we are the top of the food chain. Who am I to go against evolution.

Lacto-vegetarian can consume dairy products.
Ovo-vegetarian can consume embyonic organisms "eggs"
Lacto-ovo vegetarian can consume eggs and dairy
Vegan can consume only vegetable matter
I have a friend who is a lacto-ovo vegetarian, not because of animal rights, he just doesn't like meat. Some people believe that animals deserve all the rights we do, but they don't. If I kill an animal, how is that different from an animal killing another animal? I can understand if people prefer not to kill animals, but it is important for population control. If there are 100 deer in a forest and only enough food to feed 75 in a years time, then most will die. This is because the deer will all find food for themselves and the supply will run out. If we go out and kill 25 deer, then the 75 that remain will all have enough food. So by killing deer, we are actually saving them. Think about it.

No they do not need to be milked anymore than humans need to breastfeed and it does cause them pain believe it or not. They hook up machines to their udders that cause them sores and infection and them load them up with antibiotics to keep them from getting sick. Then the pus and blood from all that goes into milk that you drink. That is one reason that I switched to soy milk. The thought of drinking pus kind of grossed me out. I am not vegetarian or vegan but if you do some research on the things that milk and milk products do to the body it is not pretty.
It causes a ton of mucus build up and also causes the the body to release dopamine into the brain. Actually causes an addiction in some people. I know it was really hard to give up when I decided to. I don't condemn anyone else for drinking it but I feel a ton better now that I don't honestly.
I don't know about b reast milk ice cream, but I know that some people will pay thousand of dollars for it saying that it is the best food out there for nutrition for humans. I figure I drank it when I was a baby and ice cream is ice cream. Who cares?

That is kind of silly. Let me know that next time you take down a zebra with your hands and little teeth without any guns or anything and see if that zebra doesn't whoop your butt.........lol. We have an advantage because we are able to use tools but I don't believe we should just randomly kill things because we can. It is actually a little out of hand in my opinion.

I disagree, our brains are our advantage. Tools didn't just magically appear. But yeah, I'm a big believer in eat what you shoot.

Yeah I also stopped going to KFC after reading about some of their practices. I love chicken as much as the next person but WTF?? Cutting their beaks off and leaving them in cages so cramped that their feet grow around the wires?? That is a bit much to me. I am definitely not ready to give up meat though. I love steak and salmon and all that good stuff but some of the time I have to put it out of my mind where it came from....

continuing this theme: name one other creature that drinks milk past 'childhood'? Milk was not meant to be used as adults.

JDL, this is 100% true. It has been shown that it is really not very healthy. They did a study of tribes in Africa for osteoporosis. The only tribe that had any known problem with it was the only one that kept cows used for milk. Go online. There is tons of research. I actually lost 5 pounds the first two weeks after I stopped drinking it, but I had major cravings. OMG, it was horrible. I had dreams about it. But to make a long story short, it is much easier to get calcium from plant sources than milk, like broccoli.
